QUESTION RE "BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP"

Suppose I am an illegal immigrant living in a state in the Mid-West..

I am a female, Black Afro-Haitian national aged 22.

One night, I was having drinks in a bar in Ohio and I got pretty sloshed. A Black dude walked into the bar half a hour before closing and I thought to myself he looked pretty hot, so I schmoozed onto him. We left the bar together and went back to my crib. Soon after we got there ended up in bed together, and because I was still pretty drunk I let him screw me without a condom. (I wasn't using any kind of contraception either.)

The morning after, the guy left and I realised that I didn't know anything about him - not even his his name. It was a classic one-night stand, and I never saw or heard from him again.

Anyway, three months after that night I discovered I was pregnant. I decided that I would have the stranger's baby and 6 months later I gave birth to a male infant. in my city's hospital.

I was told by one of the mid-wives in my maternity ward - (who was dealing with my paperwork) - that my child was automatically an American citizen, who had all of the privileges and benefits that all American citizens are entitled to.

I thought to myself: "That's cool, now I don't have to worry about being in the US illegally and subject to deportation."

However, I was told that just because my baby was a US citizen (as per the 14th Amendment), it did NOT mean that I became one to, just by giving birth to him, and that my immigration status was still "illegal alien". Furthermore, I would have to wait 21 years, for my child to be able to sponsor me for an application for US citizenship - if that's what I wanted.

So, situations like this must be far from uncommon, and when a pregnant illegal alien gave birth in a US hospital, the hospital will definitely discover when the mother-to-be is "booked in" that she is an undocumented (illegal) immigrant.
Right ?

Because the mother is illegally in the US, the hospital authorities must be duty - bound to report the fact to the appropriate US Immigration authority.

So the Hospital manager advises the police/ ICE of the situation.

And ICE agents soon arrive at the hospital, and they place the Haitian mother of the new-born infant in a detention centre awaiting deportation to Haiti.

That's what the law says should happen. But if the mother of a new-born infant were separated from her new-born child in this way who would subsequently care for the infant?

It would mean that both the mother and the infant would have to be repatriated (deported back to Haiti. Right ?

I seriously doubt that this would happen. There would be a HUGE political backlash from the liberal/left.

So what DOES actually happen in cases like this - ( and there's no doubt there would be lots and lots of legally similar equivalents).

Yo! Excellent description of the code word 'chaos" that OBiden's open border policy put us in. Overwhelm the system! The friggin Marxists want to dumb down and break down the USA.
