Question for Double Dippers....

That's pretty much how I would see it. I sure hope we don't have one, but really, I think we may be in one right now.

I've had you tell me I had no hopes for Obama. But that isn't true. I have hoped from the beginning that the economy would turn around regardless of who is in office. I like being a powerful rich nation that owns 1/4 of the planet just by breathing...

Time to get our swagger back.

I like that way of thinking... Im with you on the goal, likely not how to accomplish it.

Honestly, it isn't a partisan type of thing. I prefer fiscally responsible government. It's nice to see that when we stopped spending "stimulus" we grew at a quicker rate, but that isn't how to get our swagger back.

We are America, we can flat get rid of foreign energy if we want to. Time to do it. Two Presidents have had the perfect opportunities to get it done and let them go to waste. No more, IMO. Energy independence is my issue this election cycle. No ideological nonsense about subsidies to partisan supporters, no more "only this kind of energy" will do rubbish. We need off this crack, we have all we need here. Without the need for foreign energy we wouldn't be mucking about in the ME, IMO. All solutions need to be on the table, we need a "Moon Landing" style government push to get this done NOW.

Regardless of if we can totally get off foreign oil; we can substantially reduce imports and add hundreds of thousands of high paying jobs. All we have to scrap is a political bs unholy grail.

Failure to do this, as I have said several times, is the biggest fault I find with President Obama. Not a single canidate for 12' has pledged to do it. I am very disappointed regarding this issue. It could be done, just like a man was put on the moon. The differences is that Corporations were behind the man to the moon deal because they stood to make a lot of money. Many corportations today are happy with the status quo as they are already set up to make money with the current system.
