The emergence of new power centers that have the right to protect their systems, economic models, and sovereignty has ended "the era of the unipolar world", Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday, in what the Kremlin described as an “extremely important” speech.

Addressing the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Putin said the Western sanctions on Russia over its military operation in Ukraine have boomeranged, exacerbating social and economic crises across the West, especially in Europe.

He went on to stress that the so-called "golden billion" countries still pretend they are superior and consider other countries to be their colonies, blaming them for deliberately undermining the foundations of international order.

In the combative speech, Putin also pointed out that the US can steal any person, group, or state's money over something it does not approve of.

He was particularly scathing in his criticism of the European countries, terming their decision to impose sanctions on Russia as "crazy" and "not well thought out".

“The European Union has completely lost its political sovereignty, and its bureaucratic elites are dancing to someone else’s tune, accepting whatever they are told from above, causing harm to their own population and their own economy,” the Russian president told the annual business forum.

European Union (EU) citizens will pay the price for “decisions divorced from reality and taken contrary to common sense,” he added, saying direct losses from sanctions could exceed $400 billion in a year.

He said the West spent years turning the former Soviet republic into an “anti-Russia” state and supplying it with weapons and military advisers while stressing that they “did not give a damn” about Ukraine’s economy or the lives of its people, but “spared no expense to create a NATO foothold in the east, directed against Russia, to cultivate aggression, hatred, and Russophobia."

“All the objectives of the special military operation will be unconditionally achieved,” Putin declared.

He said Russia will “never follow the path of self-isolation” but will expand interactions with those who are willing to trade with it, adding that there are “many such countries.”

Instead of claiming to know what Putin thinks, read what Putin thinks.

ha! I came up with "Russiaphobia" , This is exactly the truth
The "unipolar world" is western (mainly US) description of their utter disregard of Russian redlines
Putin is saying the west can screw Russia...
Putin also pointed out that the US can steal any person, group, or state's money over something it does not approve of.
but the west has hurt it's own economys with fertilizer boycott, oil and nat gas boycott, when it does

Putin's alliance with China means the west now has limited power over Russia in terms of sanctions
because Russia has an out from unipolar hostilities

Any society that bans sportspersons, artists, academics of whoever because of where they were born is sick to its roots.

When I say ' sick ' I do mean in the medical sense;

Symptoms of Russophobia
Someone experiencing Russophobia will feel a great deal of anxiety when reading about Russia in the newspaper or when hearing about it on TV. They may become so overwhelmed with anxiety that they will be forced to put the newspaper down or change the channel so that they can relieve their suffering. As mentioned before, their anxiety may be so intrusive that they may experience full blown panic attacks which may require hospitalization.

Clearly, such sick people should not hold powerful positions- and we should not be voting for them according to the degree of their Russophobia.

fertilizers shortages, grain held hostage to Russian shipping (so Ukraine doesnt get money) LNG contracts ripped up,and Europe now having to depend on a worldwide shift of LNG delivery instead of just getting it from Russia.

No transit fees for Ukraine either- just pulverized because it literally became a tug of war .
alll for the Russiaphobes,NATO expansion...and what was it? oh yeah.. "democracy"

And that, apparently, is what Klepto Joe wanted when he zeroed in on Nord Stream 2 as a threat to American dominance in Europe.

If it's NOT what he wanted then why did he do it ?

that assumes Joe can reason things out.
I think he's nothing but reactionary. His level of thought is "Putin is bad /Zelensky is good"
so he arms Zelensky with our entire inventory of advanced weapons -and Zelensky is insatiable

Nordstream 2 sanctions were lifted before the war. considering he routinely kills US pipelines
it's evident he has no baseline consistency
