Former Trump campaign chief Steve Bannon is now arguing against arming Ukrainian forces in their fight against Russia.

Bannon's comments came one day after the White House announced it would be sending 800 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, 2,000 Javelin anti-armor weapons, and 400 machine guns, among other items.

Bannon in the past has made the argument that America should back Putin because the totalitarian leader is anti-woke.

Donald Trump called Putin a genius, and threatened to withhold military aid from Ukraine unless they dug up dirt on his political opponents.
 
'They cannot possibly win!' MAGA-favorite Marjorie Taylor Greene says Ukraine should give up as she decries more US military aid

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Wednesday slammed President Joe Biden for sending more military aid to Ukraine, and said that things would be better off if Ukrainians just gave up their efforts to resist the Russian invasion.

In a Facebook address to her supporters, Greene laid out the case against helping the Ukrainians with more weapons.

"If we truly care about suffering and death on our television screens, we cannot fund more of it by sending money and weaponry to fight a war they cannot possibly win!" she said. "The only effect of more arms and more money from America will be to prolong the war!"

Greene went on to say that America was giving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his people "false hope about a war they can't win."

I think this is a widely held view in the crazy Republican base, and I think we are going to see more and more "mainstream" Republicans (who other than Romney don't really exist anymore) pushing this view. I expect things to get really crazy by mid-terms, and to go off the rails by early 24 when the Republicans jockey for the nomination.

Putin postures as an anti-woke, anti-politically correct,
socially conservative, white Christian nationalist.

And that is a combination sure to make any Trump fan boy swoon.

Even Putin is taking a page from the Republican playbook (even though he probably wrote it) and claiming the west is trying to "cancel" Russia.

Yeah I saw that, I thought the same. He spends a lot of time exploiting and worsening existing American culture clashes. The Republican idiots always fall for it. Rubes.

Your article is not too professional.
It is making an assumption and passing it off as fact.

I think Bannon is a bit of a kook.
But there are a lot of people who are against America sending arms to ANYONE - not just Ukraine.

Now, maybe Bannon said that because he supposedly likes Putin.
Or maybe he said that because he - like many Americans - do not like sending arms to foreign countries.
Or getting involved - even indirectly - in foreign wars.

You (and the author of this article) should wait to see which reason it is before making the assumption that it has to be because he loves Putin (supposedly)?

No, I am saying Bannon is just like you and a lot of other MAGA --> secretly hoping Putin wins this war, and just wanting Ukraine to just submit and surrender
