President Pawlenty?

I saw a report on Fox earlier that said 45% of poll respondents had never heard of him.

"For a guy who has spent six years in the governor's office and was a leader in the state House before winning that post in 2002, Pawlenty has an almost non-existent political operation either in the state or nationally.

Even allies describe Pawlenty as generally apolitical and not someone who has spent much time building a national network of donors or hiring on national operatives to position him for a run at the ticket."

He's a governor, not a pop-star. People have talked about the credentials of Gov. Christine Gregoire for the Dems, and I doubt many Dems outside of WA are familiar with her existance...

A legitimate question, and I'm not saying it can't be done, is how is he going to differentiate himself in a Republican primary from other well knowns such as Palin, Gingrich, Romney, Hucklebee etc.? Without knowing much about him my first thought would be he might not have all the baggage his better known competitors have.

I don't remember Clinton being all that well known in '92 but Clinton had serious smarts, drive and charisma.

My understanding is that he has no intention of running in 2012 and will probably throw his hat in the ring in 2016.

How will he seperate himself from Palin, Gingrich and Huckabee? That's easy. He'll be the "SANE" candidate.

compare that with the number of people who had heard of Obama two years before the 08 election......

Obama beats generic repukes by 10 points in the latest polls. He beats the stiffs likely to win by even more.
