Prediction: The GOP will take the Senate

The following GOP candidates will almost certainly win. In each case, either the polls are on their side or momentum appears to be in their favor.

Rehberg (MT)
Flake (AZ)
Thompson (WI)
Berg (ND)
Allen (VA)

Minus lost seats in MA and ME (Pocahontas and King will win), that would put the GOP at 50 seats, with Paul Ryan breaking the tie.

Payback is gonna be a bitch. :)
 
How comes RCP has the Senate race at 52 to 48 and 538 is predicting the same? Pretty remarkable considering that more Democratic seats are up this year that Repubs are only projected to gain 1 seat.

Hmmm... I don't see it breaking for the Reps. I think it ends up 51 or 52 for the Dems. A 50/50 Senate would be a nightmare.

Their predictions are based on the current polls. Based on those they win 52. What he is saying is that those behind in the polls are gaining momentum and he predicts that momentum carries them to victory. Obviously that could happen, though I would guess and say it won't.

It is becoming hysterical to watch Righties make their big, bold predictions about November 6th.

They've gone from sullen and depressed to cautiously optimistic to certain they are going to destroy Democrats in DC, and it's just so much fun to watch!

Who knows what insanity they can dream up before the 6th gets here?
 
Well, given the remarks of the religious reich candidate in Indiana, there is a good possibility that I'll be wrong in my prediction. Unless Brown can work some magic in Mass, it'll most likely end up being 51 D - 49 R.
