In theory, Priests are married to The Church. Most of them are satisfied with that relationship, but the ones that you are referring to provide evidence to support my theory.

With most commodities that would be a problem in itself, but without women men have a tendency to be predators. I'd argue that the reason terrorism is so rampant in mid-east countries is that there are too many guys chasing too few women.

Its also a crappy way to raise sons. Dad's too busy to spend time with them.

Polygamy has been tried before, and western society has evolved beyond it.

Interesting point about the connection between terrorism and not getting laid. I suppose when it comes to the suicide bombers vis-a-vis the 72 virgins some folks get a bit more edgy than others.

I wonder if the same holds true for home grown terrorists. Maybe we're heading into an age where Homeland Security will be mandating sex or organizations springing up such as "Copulating For Peace".

I don't recall that chap Orwell mentioning anything about this in his book. :confused:

So you dismiss a long term relationship with one woman as "getting laid". How typical for a liberal to belittle women like that.

I agree that missing time with Dad is not a good deal. Neither is it good to spend too much time without Mom. But considering the way things have gone, most families have two working parents.

With multiple spouses there is actually a better chance at more time with at least one gender of parent, and a good chance of time with both gender of parents in thefamily.

But there is no reason not to allow polygamy. This is just another example of the gov't sticking its nose where it doesn't belong.
 
It is permitted to have several wives, but infidels are denied this. Perhaps that is why you hate Muslims.
 
I finally watched the show. It seems they function like a well-adjusted family. The kids appear happy.

The last marriage took place 16 years ago. Next week "daddy" is going to ask another woman to marry him. That will be wife number four. Stay tuned for a possible "cat fight".

Well, he moved the future wife closer to his home but she can't move in until they are married. Now one of his current wives will babysit the future wife's children while he and the future wife date and get to know each other. Sort of like a wife babysitting her husband's new girlfriend's children while they go on a date. :eek3:

Meanwhile, back at the "big house", as the home where he lives is referred to, one of his current wives is expecting a child. He's hoping to marry the new gal before the other wife delivers as he said he'd feel strange kissing his "girlfriend" while his other wife is bearing a child.

It's shows like this that enables each of us to put our problems in perspective. :rofl:
