PolitiFact shreds Jon Stewart’s Fox News misinformation claim

Wrong! The truth-vetting project PolitiFact looked into the "Daily Show" host's sweeping claim since Wallace himself did not challenge it. It "found three surveys since 2007 that shed some light on how informed Fox viewers are compared to consumers of other media"--none of which ranked the Fox News audience at the bottom of the misinformation barrel, even if the network did score low in certain areas pertaining to accuracy.

"In several of the surveys, Fox isn't the lowest," PolitiFact concluded, "and other general-interest media outlets--such as network news shows, network morning shows and even the other cable news networks--often score similarly low. Meanwhile, particular Fox shows--such as The O'Reilly Factor and Sean Hannity's show--actually score consistently well, occasionally even outpacing Stewart's own audience."

Stewart has apologized to Politifact for a false statement HE made during his Chris Wallace interview. Stewart had inaccurately called Fox News viewers, "The most consistently misinformed media viewers," but the fact-checking group reports that not every poll lists them as such (Stewart blames his ignorance on watching too much Fox News, naturally).

So, Faux viewers are misinformed...just not quite as misinformed as Stewart implied last Sunday...thanks for clearing that up Yurt!

One wonders if fair & balanced Yurt will now call out Faux for the numerous lies told by their anchors and reporters listed by Stewart and backed by politifact.

and as usual zappa ignores that it is not just fox viewers and that some of the most informed viewers are hannity and o'reily viewers....

then again, zappa and the truth are like oil and water. if a repub said it was partly cloudy, zappa would furiously call the pub a liar for saying you can't see the sky

you are a troll, I never see you slam and repubs and if you do it's 99 to 1
