Police: Boy Playing Ding-Dong Ditch Shot In Back

A Louisville man accused of shooting a 12-year-old boy in the back is out of jail on bond without being arraigned before a judge.

Jacob Eberle is in stable condition at Kosair Children's Hospital with chest tubes keeping his two collapsed lungs working.

The man who is accused of causing those injuries is now out of jail and back in the neighborhood, to the shock of victim's family.

Michael Bishop, 56, was scheduled to be arraigned on an attempted murder charge.

Bishop is accused of shooting Eberle after an apparent prank by a group of boys Monday night.

Police said the boys ran up to several homes ringing their doorbells before running away. But when they came to Bishop's door, he had a shotgun and fired, hitting Eberle.

The courts scheduled Bishop's arraignment on the attempted murder charge for Wednesday morning, but before court even began, he posted a $10,000 cash bond and was released.
