A JetBlue pilot arrested after an apparent meltdown aboard a March flight has been found not guilty by reason of insanity.

A federal judge in Amarillo, Texas, made the determination Tuesday after a psychologist testified that pilot Clayton Frederick Osbon "suffered from a severe mental disease or defect that impaired his ability" to understand his actions.

From what I read it sounds like the legal system worked.

So if you two rant about Jesus on a a commercial flight, you too can be judged 'not guilty by reason of insanity'.

He was judged insane because he was given a psychiatric evaluation, and the psychologist reported that he suffered from a severe mental disease or defect.

Was that mental disease or defect manifested in part by ranting about Jesus?

So if you rant about Jesus on a commercial flight, you can't claim to be insane?

One of the symptoms of a heart attack is pain in the left arm. If I die of a heart attack, will you claim I died of pain in my left arm? And is every pain in the left arm automatically a heart attack?

Is ranting about Jesus on a commercial flight a symptom of mental disease or defect?

BTW, if you a have pain in your left arm, please call 911. Or, you could put your GPS coordinates in a metal box under a bridge and hope the paramedics find you in time.

Religion can be dangerous to your mental health.

Remember the woman who killed her children with rocks becuase god told her to. And many more similar cases.

When you hear voices in your head it is not likely to be god.
Statistics say it is more often insanity.

I don't know if it is a symptom of a mental disease or defect. I am not a psychologist.

Let me get this straight. You believe a symptom is the disease?
