Pelosi Faces Likely Leadership Challenge From Moderate Democrat

The Democrats lost 67 seats.

The Progressives lost 3 out of 83. That accounts for 4.4% of Democratic losses, for a caucus that represented 32% of the total Democratic party.

The Blue Dogs lost 28 out of 54 (more than half of their members). That accounts for 41.7%, almost half, of Democratic losses, out of a caucus that only represented about 21% of the party. The Blue Dogs really punched way above their weight in this election.

Your sarcasm detector is on the fritz.

In the house, EVERYONE'S seat was up for grabs. The blue dogs obviously won their primaries and then were voted out of office in favor of an even MORE conservative rival. How that bodes well for Liberals is beyond me. The ONLY liberal seats that were safe were the liberals in liberal districts. Here in NM 3 we had an incumbent, conservative Dem, Harry Teague who lost to a REALLY conservative Republican, Steve Pierce. But Harry is an oil man, who owns two private jets, voted against health care but for Cap and Trade and he lost to Pierce who would have voted against BOTH. So had we run a Pelosi dem in New Mexico the bloodshed would have been gruesome.

So you're district hates America? Why should we allow that treasonous representative to take his seat and disgrace the house of representatives with his presence? Someone who wants to murder American citizens through both global warming and getting rid of their healthcare should be put in front of a firing squad, not rewarded with a congressional seat. The nerve of some people sicken me.

Blue dogs are obviously going to be the ones in the more competitive seats. There was only like a 5% swing nationally though. It's not a huge deal. Our winner take all system exaggerates things and it gets to conservative's head.
