House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will lead a delegation of congressional Democrats to the United Nations climate change conference in Madrid next week, her office announced Saturday.

Pelosi and 14 other Democrats from both chambers of Congress will attend the 2019 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, also called COP25, her office said.

"It is a privilege to accompany a high-level Congressional delegation to Spain to combat the existential threat of our time: the climate crisis," Pelosi said in the statement. :rolleyes:

of course I understand face to face are useful at times, especially when it comes to new issues, new partners
getting on the same page in business etc.

But this had the classic "Congressional junket" written all over it. There is nothing new, no reason for introductions

It's another UN exercise for well known players/ideas..
Recall Paris Accord is still in place -so there is no new ground here.

Then take the fact it's in Spain in the late Fall -gee- do you think the weather has anything to do with it?
