Jeffrey Johnson was killed by police Friday in midtown Manhattan, after killing a former co-worker on the street and raising his .45-calibre semi-automatic gun at police officers. Although he did not get off any shots, officers fired 16 shots, killing Johnson, and wounding nine bystanders.

I didn't say that and no they didn't necessarily need to wait for him to shoot. my point, besides proving USF wrong on the point, was to show that they were not under fire when they approached or had to draw.

for the second what time zone, i am in pdt and it is 2055, later reports claim that he shot at least once

in any case, a note in his apartment indicated that he did not plan on returning and i suspect suicide by cop was his plan

i can understand the guy's feelings, long term unemployment sucks and can warp a person's mind

when you are used to making a decent living for your family and yourself, being thrust into abject poverty weighs heavily, especially if you are the sole bread winner

this gop brought on recession exacerbated by rep/dem inability to work together (and i blame the reps more than the dems, but congress is stalemated)
