PA Supreme Court Overturns Voter ID Law

Looks like Mitt Romney's campaign manager picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue. I will update with a link when I have one.


UPDATE: The Supreme Court actually vacated the lower court opinion upholding the law and sent it back to the lower court. So the law hasn't been vacated just yet. There will be more litigation before this is all sorted out.

not necessarily, though not being able to see the opinion makes it all speculation. there could be any number of reasons why it was sent back.

No, the lower court ruling does not still stand. The Supreme Court vacated that ruling and said that they had to have additional hearings.

No. It means that as of today you do, but the Supreme Court basically instructed the lower court to enjoin the law unless the state can meet some fairly strict requirements.

Except that the lower court has to hold hearings immediately and issue a ruling by Oct. 4.
