Los Angeles school officials say a substitute teacher has lost her job after making anti-Semitic comments during an interview.

In a statement Tuesday, schools Superintendent John Deasy condemned remarks made by Patricia McAllister during a protest rally last week.

In an Oct. 12 interview with Reason.com at a Los Angeles rally, McAllister said "Zionist Jews and the Federal Reserve" need to be run out of this country.

Deasy says that although freedom of speech is a protected right of public employees, the LAUSD can't set a good example for students while tolerating disrespectful, intolerant or discriminatory behavior.

McAllister worked as a day-to-day substitute teacher in the district.

NOW she has more time to spend with the OWS

After all the people on the left branding the entire Tea Party movement racist because of a very few signs photographed and spread all over, or the same bunch branding conservatives as racist for the remarks of an isolated extremist minority, can we do the same now with the left?

Doesn't this mean the entire Occupy movement is anti-semitic?

I find it odd, you, an avowed racist and bigot, posting this post.

Espousing views like hers in the same breath admitting you work for a school district was beyond stupid- espousing her anti Semitic views beyond ugly.

I hope this was a joke.

Not at all. What is a joke is someone can't criticize the Zionist jews and the federal reserve without losing their jobs.

Freedom of speech UNLESS you criticize the jews or the federal reserve. Had she said Catholic, Hindu, Mexican or any other group of people she would have still had her job. Just comes to show how much influence the jews have in America.

No she wouldn't. Please tell me that you don't believe that if she was out there saying that La Raza Mexicans were destroying the nation and need to be "run out" that she would somehow still have her job. Or if she were saying that separatist whites, or any other group like that.

This is like that idiot teacher who posted on Facebook against homosexuality. He lost his job too. Saying crap like this when you are a public employee is problematic for you at best, and nets a firing in pretty much all the cases I have seen.

Reality: racists, even ones who think they are telling "the truth" tend to get fired if they are in a position like hers.

What do you find racist with her statement? She was telling the truth! The Zionists who control the fed res should be run out of the country.

Do you think her comments could incite violence against Zionists, or just the culprits. the FR?

I don't think it was, wise is akin to asszhat.

Is the word Zionist like saying Niger?lol I didn't know Zionist was a derogatory word.

If she had promoted violence against a group, race or religion, that would be different!

Maybe they perceived the word Zionist as an incitement of stirring hatred against Jews? Then there claim would be legitimate.

I guess she should have left the Zionist part out, even though its sort of the truth? Except they aren't Zionists. If they promote Israel it is only for profit and very little to do with religion.

I guess as this policy is enforced equally in regards to any religion, then I guess its ok?

Though again, people have said worse and got off free, due to their freedom of speech rights. Who was that guy that wanted to burn the Quran or said something bad about Islam and got fired and then he sued and got his job back plus cash in his pocket!

So you think that only statements that "incite violence" can possibly be considered racist? Interesting.

It is more like saying "community organizer" when talking about a different ethnicity. It's just another way of dismissing a person and replacing them with a negative stereotype.

Clearly, but with less knowledge. At least Asshat knows what fiat currency is and wouldn't be propounding the introduction of another fiat currency.

I seem to know more then you. And the reason I want to introduce the greenbacks is to eliminate the fed and its highway robbery interest they charge. Therefore its not only a mater of replacing one fiat currency for another but nice try. :)

So your saying the world Zionist is now a derogatory word like niger? Interesting. :)

A lot of Jews feel that it is. I have friends who really bristle over it. But they are staunchly pro-Israel to the point where they will protest against the US government in the peace movement here, but will not protest against Israel when they invade Lebanon! I have asked them in the past whether this isn't just agreeing with the American right's view of them as traitors for being in anti-war demonstrations here. I never get an answer that makes any sense!

However, I do not feel that zionist is a slur, and it certainly is not comparable to the n word and nothing can make it so. So no, this woman is not guilty of hate speech based on that word.

However...she advocated that Jews be run out of this country. That is hate speech and in fact, I feel it borders on qualifying as eliminationist rhetoric.

They were right to fire her.
