Osama Bin Laden DEAD!

Happy day? Why is that, pinhead? I thought OBL wasn't any threat worth risking lives for... some old guy on a kidney machine, who posed no threat to the US? Now suddenly, it's a happy day.... I guess because your true love Obama gets credit for nailing him? It sure as hell ain't because liberals thought he was a big issue.

Oh, dear Dixie - did you forget it was Bush who said he was "irrelevant"?

CNN is saying he was killed by US forces, in a mansion outside of Islamabad.

yep....if this was a result of US military....obama just jumped big time in terms of reelection.
I think it's way too soon personally. Americans have very short term memory. And ultimately, and this is strictly my opinion, this is probably going to a failure for him politically. Because our whole reason for going to Afghanistan is dead, we no longer have a reason to be there, as far as Americans are concerned. So he'll either keep our troops there, which will serve no point in the public mind, or he'll bring them back, and subsequently introduce a few hundred thousand people into a job market that cannot support it's current excess.

I personally do not belive that necessarly means Obama gets reelected. It does certantly give him some national security creditability. Bush tried for more than 7 years.... It took President Obama less than three.

Troops are scheduled to start coming home in 60 days... but I agree that it is too soon to guarantee a reelection.

I hope this is a turn around for the sour mood America has been in for a long time!

The death of Osama changes little in practical terms. It isn't as though all of a sudden US troops won't be necessary in Afghanistan (if they are necessary). Hopefully, Obama uses it as a convenient excuse to end the Afghanistan mission.

I understand that, but that's a very rare perspective. Most Americans aren't going to see a reason to be there now.
