But what about the White collages??

(Associated Press) -- Leaders of historically black colleges say they'll fight a reduction in a federal program they call a financial lifeline at a time of economic distress for the schools and their students.

President Barack Obama's education budget, unveiled Thursday, included major spending increases in many areas _ but didn't include an extra $85 million that black institutions have received annually for the past two years thanks to a 2007 change to the student loan laws.

That two-year-old program provided direct funds to federally recognized HBCUs _ historically black colleges and universities.

What about "white institutions"? I sense some racism here.

Well considering that these institutions were founded because blacks weren't allowed into many 'white' colleges their reason for existance is a pretty good one.

As an aside from a sports perspective its interesting to see the number of future NBA stars that played at historically black colleges during the middle of the 1900's. Not something you see today.

You do, do you?

It's us vs. them SM. You've got to fight the bad guys out their who are being racist against whites. Don't attempt to use reason, and don't think, before you say something, "Is what I'm saying utterly retarded factually?" Don't let information like the fact that HCBU's were founded as a refuge for black's to get an education in times of segregation, and in light of that it would be silly for there to exist HCWU's because every other school was literally an HCWU, deter you in your condemnation of there not being HCWU's. Those are mere facts, and as everyone knows, your conservative brothers are way more important than facts.

DOWN WITH THE LIBERAL MEDIA!

Ergo: no need for the distiction, in this day and age.

And of course there is no "racism" in any of the "historically black collages"??

I would argue they came about because of white racism and the schools did not discriminate against other races as far as admission. So therefore in this case I'm ok with the name.

So you are saying that "black collages" have no racism in them!!

To my knowledge they do not nor ever have discriminated based on color in their admissions (i could obviously be wrong on that). So because the schools were founded to serve people who were discriminated against and do not discriminate themselves I don't have a problem with the term.

....
Aren't you painting all "white" colleges with a broad brush here? I would argue that many "white" colleges didn't accept blacks because they didn't qualify academically.
