on the subject of 'separation of church and state'

you are wrong, to wit....."or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". That is in the constitution.

What a silly argument. You cannot literally interpret the Constitution while ignoring the rest of it. The intent of the Founding Fathers was clear.

Put all the nativity scenes and crosses on your fucking yard you want. Keep them off government property.

What's so hard to understand about that?

apparently you understanding the constitution is too hard. what documentation do you have that clearly states the intent of the founding fathers, other than the words of the first amendment?

We have a secular government. I know the ultra religious find that offensive but there you have it. It's that way because history taught the founders that any government that promotes one religion over another is authoritarian and oppressive. They wrote that into the constitution to ensure that we, as a country, wouldn't be subjected to it. Separation of church and state includes putting religious icons or images on public property because there are more different religions in this country than many on the far right want to believe and we can't take sides, one way or another. Does this mean you can't pray over a meal at Denny's? Our government doesn't promote, or shouldn't promote, any religion above others.

We have no religious requirement to stand for office in this country as a result. An atheist is just as capable of serving in the government as a fundie.

I know all this goes against what you must have learned at Liberty University but there you have it.

Don't argue with me. You're not smart enough.

your hatred of religion does NOTHING to deny that the framers ensured that religion could not be promoted NOR DENIED by government. you failed. looks like I am smarter than you.

I dont care if the constitution would allow government to promote or denigh religon(Which it doesnt.) I refuse to have what I beleave dictated but the state or any law aor religous institution. I will choose those for myself thank you.

I wonder why people like to ignore this part..."or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". probably for the same reasons that they can only focus on the militia part of the 2nd.
We let you practice the free exorcise of your gun religion. We may bitch that your god awful annoying about it but we don't stop you!

Deal. Yours doesn't offend my sensibilities. Mine offends yours. Win for me. Plus I will strap yours with Christmas lights and tinsel to make it more festive :rofl2:

Who knew a commie fascist like you and a freedom loving patriot like me could find compromise.

I have a great manger for your local post office

Why would you be allowed to deface his display?

His argument is exactly why it is not and cannot be allowed. But you are just trolling here.

I guess factsRstupid is too much a coward to answer my questions.

Shall we try once more...

Can't put a manger outside a post office

What's that got to do with you expressing yourself?

Do you live at the Post Office?

Can you put a scene from a made up story outside your house?

everyone that sues to keep christian and catholic symbols off public property.

Wanderingbear already answered this. We allow that and they have to allow every other display including those from the WBC, Jack Chick and every other asshole. Then why not allow everybody to rearrange the other persons, display. Maybe, your manger scene becomes something unflattering to your faith.

He is a anarchist troll. He is not concerned about the manger scene. He wants to get rid of the post office. That is fine by me as we don't need it anymore and never really did. But he will use this line of reasoning for every piece of government property. That's obviously not politically viable. But he will throw his tantrum anyway.

I think he is a dumbass that thinks that descending into violent chaos is the only remaining option.
