OK for liberals, not OK for businesses?

I hired a couple young men - early 20s - to move a whole bunch of wood and to split the larger pieces; hard workers, I was happy to pay them $20 an hour each although technically they charged less.

My stepdaughter and b/f - wanted to do some work for us. I knew they just weren't up to the same level; they just weren't up to 7 hours of hard physical labor a day . I had them clear out a shed - while they did a great job, have to say I didn't pay them quite as much.... still more than minimum wage, though.

So McDonald's doesn't pay some employees "quite as much" if those workers " just weren't up to the same level", just like a liberal.

What's wrong with that?

what is so hard for you to understand minimum means you cant pay them less NOT you cant pay them more

what you going to prove the world is round next?

If you need me to.

Now, back to the subject.

McDonald's employs millions of workers, and many of them earn more than minimum wage. The operative word is "earn".

You want the people who don't merit a higher rate of compensation to get one anyway, don't you?

and many Americans want the minimum wage to be increased.

It has not been increased lately and wages have increased way beyond this being a decent livable minimum

Desh, do you believe people who currently make more than minimum wage, but less than the new minimum you propose, will be happy to accept your minimum, effectively losing the benefit of their skill set? Or do you believe they will demand to be paid the same portion above the minimum wage you propose? Do you expect every business to be able to absorb the new higher operating costs without raising prices? Do you expect they will lose some business if they increase prices? Do you expect they will have to downsize and work with less employees since payroll will be greater and sales will be down? You must believe the increase in price will outweigh the drop in sales?
