The Obama administration deported a record number of illegal immigrants in the 2010 fiscal year, according to figures released Wednesday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Of the 392,862 deportations from October 2009 through September of this year, about half were illegal immigrants with criminal records. The total was about 3,000 more deportations than the record set in the previous year.

Ditto. Can't really say I'm upset to read this. Obviously we need reform to our immigration policies via better enforcement and better programs that allow workers to come here legally. But considering current conditions sending more people home is not a bad thing.

I do also, but I'm not happy about them fighting states that want to impose penalties to employers who hire illegal workers. And really, how much did their budget increase? They're just doing the job they're supposed to be doing.
