Obamacare choices may go from 1 to 0 in some places

Parts of the country are in jeopardy of not having an insurer offering Obamacare plans next year.

Many counties already have just one insurer offering health plans in the Obamacare marketplaces, and some of those solo insurers are showing signs that they are eyeing the exits.

Humana announced this year that they’d be leaving the markets altogether next year. That means there are parts of Tennessee that will have no insurance options unless another insurer decides to enter.

And Anthem, which operates in 14 states, is getting nervous, an industry analyst told Bloomberg News this week. Its departure would be a much bigger problem. According to an analysis of government data by Katherine Hempstead at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Anthem is currently the only insurance carrier in nearly 300 counties, serving about a quarter of a million people.

Humana is sulking because their merger with Aetna was shot down. I'm sure trump will change that.

And isn't this ultimately a good thing? Don't these Red states want to have the right to go uninsured? Now they got their wish. Win/Win

Open the markets up and force health insurance companies to compete on price across state lines. Free markets abhor a vacuum.

Just do it.

People should have the right to go uninsured if they choose to do so. Coupled with that is locations that provide medical treatment should be able to deny providing care if the persons doesn't have coverage and can't pay.

I'd expect someone like you that supports women have the choice to kill what they produced by spreading their legs to allow people to have the CHOICE to not buy healthcare. Just more proof that those calling themselves pro choice aren't anything but pro abortion.

It's immoral to deny emergency treatment to a trauma victims because they don't have insurance. They do that in barbaric countries.

It's moral for hospitals to get screwed out of millions of dollars/year? What about sniffles and sneezes? Should they be able to deny those services?

Is it moral to take food away from veterans/seniors because high earners want a tax cut?

Why don't some companies step in and undercut others then?
Because markets are what they are in different states. Insurance companies might not want to enter high risk markets? You'll have to ask Paul Ryan. Or trump. They seem to think cross state sales is a panacea.

Not if the reason they don't have insurance is because they CHOSE not to purchase it.

How is it immoral to not provide someone something if the sole reason you don't is due to a choice the person made?

Is it immoral is a person chooses not to purchase auto insurance and a body shop refuses to fix it when he/she wrecks his/her car?

So Reagan was wrong to force hospitals to treat everyone?

a human being and a car are two different things

can you tell me their major difference idiot?

He doesn't want a "free market ".
He wants to force the market.
His own words.
What they all 'want', is to get rid of the ACA related taxation. Anything else isn't even a consideration. Why else would they put forth such an idiotic plan for healthcare? I have to wonder if they'd accept those terms for themselves? Given that women/seniors will pay 'bigly' for insurance.

Time to remind every one that when obamacare passed in 2010, not a single repub voted for it. Trump is right to just say hell with it and let this mess collapse.
