well...according to one poster here, it is because the media has lost interest in the war, thus coverage is less, that being so, conversation about the subject is less.

btw...i don't read the OP as a criticism or praise. i do find it funny how you two lefties automatically assumed it was criticism.

bravo...can you clear this up?
 
Hmm he seperated out the deaths by presidential term. Seems kinda partisan/critical to me.

I personally think we should have been in Afganistan no more than 6 months. Kicked ass took names and warned we would be back if they started any more crap with us.

how is that partisan? you have repeatedly separated jobs etc....by presidential terms. are you partisan?

afghan in 6 months, no way, no how. that would have been like patrolling a bad street with extra cops for 6 days and then leaving. i honestly thought we could resolve it in about 5-8 years. i believe bush lost focus because of the focus on iraq. you can't do that. if you are going to fight a two front war, you have to remain equally focused, unless one of the fronts is a much more imminent threat to our country.

I hate when people spout off the numbers for political purposes. It was wrong when the left did it to Bush, and it's wrong when the right does it to Obama. I really didn't need to be reminded when we hit each incremental milestone of 1000, both when I was still in high school and since I have been enlisted.

I agree.
Let the Miliary do what they've been trained for and after they leave, the Politicians can step in and do all the "rebuilding".

Throw in the wounded, too, and the inocent civilians in other countries, and while you are at it, how much treasure the whole debacle cost.

The media didn't lose interest in the war, they lost interest in reporting five or six times a day the total number of dead soldiers and showing the body bags and coffins coming in at Dover Air Force Base.......at least since January or 2009.......

I would be surprised if interest doesn't pick up after the inauguration of Romney in Jan. of 2013......
I think interest in the mounting debt, price of gas, inflation in general, and a number of other issues will also pick up about that time.....
