Interesting points made on the actual results of the work of these two men.

“There is no doubt Obama is pro-choice, Cafardi writes. “He has said so many times. There is also no doubt Romney is running on what he calls a pro-life platform. But any honest analysis of the facts shows the situation is much more complicated than that. For example, Obama’s Affordable Care Act does not pay for abortions. In Massachusetts, Romney’s health care law does. Obama favors, and included in the Affordable Care Act, $250 million of support for vulnerable pregnant women and alternatives to abortion. This support will make abortions much less likely, since most abortions are economic. Romney, however, has endorsed Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan’s budget, which will cut hundreds of millions of dollars out of the federal plans that support poor women. The undoubted effect: The number of abortions in the United States will increase. On these facts, Obama is much more pro-life than Romney.”

"“But let’s not stop there. Obama does not financially profit from the abortion industry. Romney does. Bain Capital, in the time Romney was listed as its legal head and even when he was attending Bain board meetings, was an owner of Stericycle, a major disposer of the dead bodies of aborted children in the United States. Bain owned a share of Stericycle until 2004, selling its interest for a profit in the tens of millions of dollars. We can parse what Romney’s 1999 “retroactive retirement” from Bain means, but he still gets an annual payout from the firm. To the extent those dollars are part of Bain’s Stericycle profits, a strong argument exists that Romney is an abortion profiteer. How pro-life is that?"

There should be no banning of abortion and women should have access to all forms of birth control without the government stepping in. I think this is something that Obama understands (and how important real sex education is) which is more than I can see on the right.

Good fuck! Romney is less pro-life cause his company invested in Stericycles? What a complete crock of shit. What a bogus attack on Stericycle. They incinerate all types of biologically hazardous waste. It's not like they specialize in burning baby's. What the fuck are people supposed to do? Throw decomposing body parts outside onto a big heap where they can become a disease vector?

This article is just a complete piece of shit hack job. I've worked with Stericycle through the years and they are an upstanding company dedicated to protecting the public health. To call them "Abortion Profiteers" is a gross falsehood. To impune Romney's reputation for investing and supporting a succesful compnay dedicated to protecting the public health liek Stericycle is just beyond disgusting.

It's the lengths the antichoice crowd will go....there is nothing too far for them.

Kind of hard to face the difference in actions of the two parties is often very little when one is invested so emotionally to one party.

Good GAWD! liberals cant even be honest when promoting themselves as affiliated with the church.

The National Catholic Reporter Publishing Company, founded in 1964, is a Kansas City, Missouri-based nonprofit corporation. Sr. Rita Larivee, SSA is the publisher. NCR is an independent organization and is not affiliated with any diocese or other official arm of the Roman Catholic church, nor with any group or organization outside of the official church. The National Catholic Reporter Publishing Company is a member of the Catholic Press Association

Jeez, the Stericycle is such a minor part of the article. It points out that Romney made money off abortion. Now I could care less, and most people understand both the need for that service and the need for abortion services and access to contraceptives. However, there is a significant portion of the conservative base that think that neither should be available.

If you see the entire article as a "shit hack job" based solely on the Stericycle part is to ignore the bulk of the article.

I'm sorry but I take exception to accusing Stericycle of profiteering off of abortion and Romney by proxy. It's dishonest. It's like claiming Stericycle profiteers off the handicap because they incinerate amputated appendiges.

Eh, its not as if that sort of hackery doesn't happen regularly from both sides of the aisle.

The big point in the article, as far as I am concerned, is the idea that supporting programs that provide access to contraceptive and better medical care has the effect of lowering the number of abortions.

What was Romney's stance on live births at the same time Obama supported letting them die in Illinois?
Don't go there 3D. You'll just be made to look stupid and dont' go quoting the Vaticans party line cause we know how much the Pope cares about women and children. They care so much that they'd let women die rather than make their own informed decisions about their reproductive rights and they care so much about children that they protected serial pedophiles for decades who were sexually molesting them. This would probably be a good time to just be quiet.

Agreed but honesty requires that it be pointed out that the OP was hackery.

Pretty sure I didn't learn about this one in church...

Ok, I have no problem with pointing out the bit about Romney making money off abortion and the connection being made to Stericycle was a hack job. Not a surprising one, considering the multitude of vague connections made in todays political commentary, but hackery nonetheless.
