The United States has resumed missile strikes against Al Qaeda targets in the trouble-torn country of Yemen.
The strikes were suspended as Yemen's military battled a concerted uprising against the 30-year rule of president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
But fears of an Al Qaeda resurgence in the region have prompted the US to strike back.
US officials consider Yemeni-based Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) to be a serious threat to national security.
AQAP is widely thought to be behind several terror plots, including the so-called underpants bomber who made an unsuccessful attempt to blow up a US airliner.
Experts say the rebellion against the reign of Mr Saleh has created a power vacuum which AQAP could exploit.
Gregory Johnston, an expert on Middle Eastern politics from Princeton University, says the situation is dangerous.

Back before Obama became president, when the cries of every liberal were deafening, over GWB's efforts in the War on Terror... I said, probably the best thing that could ever happen for the War on Terror, was for a liberal to become president. Damn if that doesn't seem to be the case!
We hear not a peep from the liberals about this, or our involvement in Libya, which, contrary to popular belief, does involve 'boots on the ground.' There are no protests, no over-hyped exaggerated rhetoric, no writhing and moaning in the floor... nothing! Not a word from liberals! It's as if it is perfectly fine for the president to launch military attacks wherever he pleases, not bothering to even inform Congress, and the liberals who were ready to lynch Bush, have no problem with it whatsoever.
Excuse me, but aren't we "creating more terrorists?" Isn't Yemen a "sovereign nation?" When did the United Nations unanimously approve our actions in Yemen? Where is the declaration of war? We're "going after alQaeda" but, I thought killing OBL was all that mattered to liberals? What does the "Arab Street" think about this? Are they suddenly okay with us bombing their people since it's Obama doing it? What about the hundreds of thousands of innocent people we are killing with our indiscriminate bombing?
