President Obama is hosting a swanky fundraiser at the Mandarin Oriental in New York tonight -- and about a third of the 200 Democratic donors attending will be from Wall Street. Each donor is paying the legal maximum of $30,400.

The fundraiser comes as White House officials strongly condemn huge bonuses at firms that received bailout money.

while you see this.....the liberal MSM will not, unless it is a republican so they can show that republicans only care about the wealthy etc.....
 
Here's an editorial from the Chronicle today about Obama's trip to SF last week. Basically he held a large fund raiser in town but didn't have any public appearances. Kind of interesting last sentence... "Don't let this become a pay-per-view presidency."


President Obama, you're welcome here anytime. San Franciscans don't mind the security costs, the traffic disruptions and other inconveniences that are required to accommodate the leader of the free world. We have just one request: Even if your mission here is to raise political donations - as it was last week - at least make an effort to do a little public business while you're in town. Visit a school. Make a speech. Drop by somewhere, anywhere, that federal dollars are being spent on one of your priority projects.

It may have cost $34,000 a couple to attend your fundraising event at the St. Francis, but know that San Francisco taxpayers shelled out a lot more for your visit to ensure that your stay was safe and comfortable as you raised that $3 million. They deserved to see you, without extra charge. Don't let this become a pay-per-view presidency.

why is it the MSM has a problem when republicans have fancy, espensive fund raisers, but no problem with dems do the same?

i remember the commentary when bush was in office and the cartoons.....wall street is in bed with republicans, republicans always painted as greedy wall street type folk.....but now....

they're greedy for democrat leadership, so no more cartoons and no more commentary from the MSM

I can EASILY demonstrate low numbers for republicans BEFORE Obama even ran for office.

MSNBC is not only MSM, it's the media most watched by democrats AND it has THE most critical and sane analysis of Obama than anyother network .. AND, they often quote the Huffington Post. They are as critical of Obama as I am.

Point being, the nonsense about the left not being critical of it's own .. is just that .. nonsense.

Too bad the right wasn't as critical of Bush until it was too damn late.

man oh man, we have high unemployment, the worst economy since the great depression (the Hugos own words), troops dying overseas and the Hugo Obama has time to whoop it up, fly all over the country for the Olympics, to collect his fake award, play golf, vacations on Martha Vineyard and go to high and mighty fundraisers, all in those long 9 months of duty as President..

Remember when the left complained about Bush playing a game of golf...
