Wow, a blatant LIE from Obama yet again on Medicare.

The facts: Under Ryan's plan that Romney endorsed, those over the age of 55 are not affected. Medicare stays as is. For those under 55, they will have the option of Medicare as it is today OR taking a private plan that costs less. Yet Obama blatantly lies and says it will cost seniors about $125k more over their lifetimes.

No. You're lying. You have absolutely no idea whether the private plan would cost lesst than the medicare. That will be up to the market to decide. Also, you have no idea what that private plan will cover. Will it cover preventative medicine? Will it cover long term care? Will it cover hospice? You have no fucking clue, cause the market will determine that and if in the process that undercuts medicare and drive up it's costs for seniors and reduces coverage, which has been the experience of most of the industrialized world, then seniors would end up paying for it.

So no Obama didn't lie. You did, that or you just don't know what you're talking about.....again.

And what happens if the voucher doesn't cover the cost of traditional medicare but they want it anyway? And what happens to the dual eligibles that rely on Medicaid for long-term nursing home care? And what happens is Meidcare spending costs exceed GDP+0.5%, who pays the difference?

Dear moron... the OPTION will be to take the Medicare as always... OR to take a lower cost option that provides the same benefits. Try reading it.

Who pays for the difference between the voucher amount and the cost of traditional Medicare if the cost of traditional Medicare is more than the voucher amount? Also, too, what happens if the magic of the market doesn't bring Medicare spending down to GDP+0.5%?

Dear tool... if the private plan is not less than the traditional medicare... no one is going to select it. They will select the traditional Medicare.

What happens to the cost of Medicare if health care costs continue to rise? Oh yeah... the costs go up. Obama care does not do anything to bring costs down, to the contrary it will increase costs of health care or it will ration care.

That's not responsive to the question. You said that seniors will always have the option of selecting traditional Medicare or a private plan. OK. What if the voucher doesn't cover the cost of Medicare, who pays the difference? If it's seniors, then Obama isn't lying. Also, too, the Medicare issue. Also, too, repealing the ACA, which Romney and Ryan have pledged to do, will increase prescription drugs costs for seniors.

Again, not responsive to my question. The Affordable Care Act and the Ryan Plan both cap Medicare spending at GDP+0.5%, the difference is how they hope to achieve that level of spending. Today, if Medicare cost are more than anticipated, the government has to foot the bill. Under a voucher plan it isn't clear exactly how it will work. Will the government foot the bill or would the increased costs be passed along to seniors? If the old Ryan Plan is any guide, those costs will be passed along to seniors. If that's the case, then Obama certainly isn't lying.
