Things like education and scientific research and infrastructure — roads, bridges, airports,” the president said in a speech at the Pathways in Technology Early College High School in Brooklyn.

“I don’t want to hear the same old stuff about how America can’t afford to invest in the things that have always made us strong,” he said. “Don’t tell me we can afford to shut down the government, which costs our economy billions of dollars, but we can’t afford to invest in our education systems, because there’s nothing more important than this.”

How many times does this idiocy have to be debunked?

1) It was WITH the REP Congress that the budget was 'balanced'.
2) There were NEVER... NOT ONCE... any actual surpluses under Clinton and that Rep Congress... though they should receive credit for their efforts and how close they came in 2000.
