Since Obama showed an alarming friendliness to ISIS, by pulling US troops out of Iraq in 2011, and opened up the vacuum in Iraq, enabling ISIS to enter in strength, from then until now, Obama has been rather consistently reluctant to stop ISIS.
Ex-US Generals, who, unlike the current ones, are free to speak, have lambasted Obama for not taking action against ISIS, and instead only engaging in "pin prick" attacks of less than 10 airstrikes/day, when 200-700 would be the norm. They have routinely criticized Obama for not blasting ISIS to bits, when they were driving long convoys of vehicles on wide-open roads, and would have been sitting ducks. Nothing was more obvious than Obama's refusal to attack ISIS.
This has generally continued over the past 2 years, with Obama allowing Iran, France, Russia, Jordan, and Iraqi Kurds to be the ones to do the fighting against ISIS. Now we have a major event in the issue of Obama pro-ISIS stance. Yesterday, 4 US jet fighters attacked Syrian soldiers fighting against ISIS and killed at least 62 of them, thereby enabling ISIS to gain major military advantage. According to Syria’s official SANA news agency, the bombing took place on al-Tharda Mountain in the region of Deir ez-Zor, and caused casualties and destruction on the ground.
Sixty-two Syrian soldiers were killed and over 100 injured in the airstrike by the US-led coalition, Russia’s Defense Ministry spokesman, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, confirmed citing information received from the Syrian General Command.
In a statement Saturday, the Syrian military says the airstrikes caused casualties and damage to equipment, and enabled an IS advance on the hill overlooking the air base. The statement calls it a "serious and blatant attack on Syria and its military" and "firm proof of the U.S. support of Daesh and other terrorist groups." Daesh is an Arabic acronym for IS.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that the aircraft which carried out the bombings had entered Syrian airspace from the territory of Iraq. Four strikes against Syrian positions was performed by two F-16 jet fighters and two A-10 support aircraft, it added.
"Immediately after the airstrike by coalition planes, Islamic State militants launched their offensive. Fierce fighting with the terrorists is currently underway in the area of the airport where for a long a time humanitarian aid for civilians was parachuted,” Konashenkov said.
“If the airstrike was caused by the wrong coordinates of targets than it’s a direct consequence of the stubborn unwillingness of the American side to coordinate with Russia in its actions against terrorist groups in Syria,” Konashenkov stressed. Alternatively, the Syrians - and Russians - may claim that the US coalition attack meant to cripple Syrian army forces, taking the lethal conflict to an entirely new level, one where Syria and Russia are effectively at war with the US coalition.
Now that the situation has been described, I will say that, based on the current situation + everything I have seen from Obama and the Democrats over the past few years (anti-Russia, anti-Syria, and pro-ISIS) I agree with the Russian Defense minister, that this is blatant warfare being waged by Obama on the side of ISIS, that has killed dozens of Syrian soldiers, and brings the ISIS war to a whole new, and very disturbing level. That is, it should be disturbing to everyone, especially the American people, who should be asking Obama right now, the same question hi sown wife, Michelle, asked him some time ago >> "Who's side are you on ?"
Maybe the reason we would NOT ask that question is because we already know the answer, after 5 years of pro-ISIS action (and INaction) from him. We will now see where this goes as the Russians are demanding that this be taken to the UN Security Council. Not that I am any fan of the UN, but this sure needs to be taken up somewhere, and fast.
The only criticism I would make of the Russian response to this is, I wish that the Russian minister would, instead of citing >> "U.S. support of Daesh and other terrorist groups" he would refer to it as >> Obama administration support of Daesh and other terrorist groups.
