The Inheritance: The World Obama Confronts and the Challenges to American Power details the world that America faces.

Author David Sanger is considered one of the most trusted correspondence in Washington to whom presidents, secretaries of state, and foreign leaders talk with unusual candor. He takes readers into the White House Situation Room to reveal how Washington penetrated Tehran's nuclear secrets, leading President Bush, in his last year, to secretly step up covert actions in a desperate effort to delay an Iranian bomb.

I don't disagree with everything Sanger says, but his book is basically a narrative on the Bush years, and unfortunately, he buys into too many themes that defy logic and scrutiny. He doesn't touch on the history of American intervention and failure that has led to the loss of American power. He doesn't touch on the ulterior motives that has driven American foreign policy long before Bush.

I don't really find much new information in what I've read of his book.
