Oakland Businesses prepare for damage

I post this because it is local to me but also I do not understand the mindset of destroying property in a city where less than five percent of people voted for Trump.

There is only one real way to stop nonsense like this. Quite simple also. No insurance money or government monies to rebuild in those locations. Only if you move out and build or start your business somewhere else.

It's not the businesses fault though and part of the problem is people from outside the City come in to cause these problems

Of course it is not the businesses fault. It is the residents fault. They are not going to like living where there is no services and when they have to rebuild the stuff they tear down themselves.

So you punish everyone in the community for the actions of a few bad apples? Did you punish your whole family when one of your kids misbehaved?

It is not like this is the first time this has happened ( if it does ). If you want to correct something quickly, get people who would normally sit on the sideline involved, make them part of the punishment. Watch how fast things change for the better.

I would imagine that initially it wouldnt but if you build your business there again then it would. Like the people in ferguson. If you know the neighborhood has the propensity to riot (like they did before) and you build your business there again then it would be your fault. Its like starting a business in a high crime area.

Then why doesn't the "community" take action and stop those "few bad apples"??

That is the point. Any community. Anywhere. Because in todays society they know the government or someone will step in and clean up the mess. It is only tax money right? Enough of that crap. That saying " it takes a village to raise a child" has a meaning and not just for good things.

Or just pass out machine guns and mow them down as they start up
