”You didn't read the article, did you? At least I hope not. No, more are not getting through successfully.. More realize it's not worth it anymore."What we’re seeing is really about perception,” said Faye Hipsman, a policy analyst at the Migration Policy Institute, a nonpartisan think tank based in Washington, D.C.: “The orders offer the possibility of very meaningful changes at the border — increased detentions, more people subject to rapid deportations — so that creates a perception that it’s more difficult to reach the United States. More importantly, there’s a lot of fear inside the U.S., and those feedback loops reach people who are thinking about making the journey.

....typically each time the government adopts new immigration enforcement measures — for example, building detention centers to accommodate the surge of Central American women and children — the numbers fall, only to rebound, in some cases higher than before.
While the new administration's rhetoric on immigration enforcement may, in the short term, be a strong deterrent to people who are thinking of coming to the U.S., the long-term repercussions of Trump's policies are not likely to be seen for months and years, said Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, a conservative Washington-based research institute that advocates stricter immigration policy.
About 15,000 migrants from outside Latin America crossed through Baja California last year, nearly five times as many as in 2015.
Yet that number dropped dramatically in recent months, Hipsman said — not simply because of Trump’s executive orders, but because Obama’s administration tightened policy, expediting deportations to Haiti, at the end of 2016.
“In some ways, it’s not surprising that the numbers have dropped in response to the rhetoric by Trump's administration,” Hipsman said. “But it's far from certain that will be sustained.”
lol.... I am that stupid......
Nope, thanks for posting that. It reinforces what I said. Less are caught because less are trying to get through. You didn't read the entire article either did you?
Either that, or the OP, you and the rest of the Trumpassholelickers who've responded in this thread were too dishonest to mention these little tidbits from the linked article....
Kinda takes a little bit of the shine off your boasting, doesn't it?
Now where in the article did it say more are getting through? You're a partisan hack incapable of independent thinking.More of them are GETTING THROUGH under Comrade Trumpsky.

Good for Obama and Trump for enforcing immigration laws.

Good.......... So now the tax payers won't have to build the YUGE edifice to rumpf's ego, aka the wall..![]()
Seems Trump is the only one trying to do something to keep the numbers from going back up. You gotta stay on top of the problem.Wrong in that it's a common phenomenon that has happened before but never lasts. The numbers always go back up.

Or do you not see illegals as a problem?
No there's other far worse problems. e.g., gubmint waste, fraud and abuse. But let's face it - dims look the other way when it comes to illegal aliens from south of the border because they look the other way, no condone them voting illegally because they have a strong tendency to vote dim.Given the valuable services most of them perform in comparison to the relatively small number of problems they cause, I can say that I do not see illegals as a major problem.
.
Turkey is building a wall on the Syrian border, should they be told that they don't work?

Certainly nowhere near the extent the right-wing paranoia over them has made it appear to be.
