Now this is how you save money!

Chirp 'they are attacking the middle class' Chirp 'they are attacking the middle class'

I wonder dear Mott.... what exactly will happen to those MIDDLE CLASS JOBS when the counties merge? Oh yeah, THEY WILL BE LOST. Imagine that. Mott supports ATTACKING THE MIDDLE CLASS!

Yea, your full of shit. Consolidation may reduce some public sector jobs and save money but it's not taking away what most of the free world considers basic fundamental human rights that right wingers like you would advocate. That's why Walker's and Kasich's policies are attacks on the middle class and this proposal is not.......but that's so damned obvious that it says a lot about you that it has to be explained to you.

LMAO.... no, I believe you are the hypocrite that is full of shit. Line up the people who would lose their jobs because of your plan. Then line up those in WI that would lose their jobs as a result of Walker's bill. One state fought to KEEP jobs, the other is going to CUT jobs.

Next, tell us... what 'fundamental right' was taken away in WI?

The only thing that changed is HOW they go about seeking a raise or better benefits. Thus, they still have the RIGHT to do so. They just don't LIKE the new way because it isn't as easy to bribe the population as it is to bribe the politicians.

No one asked but I had two initial thoughts.

1) Economically this seems like a smart move. It's the same type of thing that would happen in the private sector, companies merging and laying off duplicate workers in hope of making the organization more efficient overall. (of course in the private sector it sometimes gets framed as the CEO laying off workers so his stock price/options will rise but that's neither here nor there)

2) I assume what you say the free world considers basic human rights is collective bargaining? To me if there was a survey taken of what people considered basic human rights I don't think collective bargaining would be at the top but that's just my opinion. Now my opinion may be biased here but as one who has officially been out of work for awhile I would much rather have a job and not have some bargaining rights than get laid off and have no job.

Fundamental human rights??? Seeking to legislate that public sector, tax supported workers, can no longer hold public budgets hostage over retirement and health care increases, is a fundamental human right???

:palm:

Yes, lets merge two broke cities or counties together, what you end up with is twice the debt and twice the number of useless union employee's sucking the life out of the taxpayer.

Bullshit. Self employed people are the only blue collar workers not presently helped by unions, but when unions are gone, even your wages will suffer as you face unforseen competition for whatever "service" you provide.

Obviously someone has to lose a job for money to be saved. Changing a job from a living wage to not just drags out the suffering.

The life of the true tax payer is going to get worse and worse until public unions are done away with.

You need to live with the same yoke around your neck for a while to see what it's like.

Bumping this because I thought it was an interesting discussion.

Agreed.... I would have liked to have seen a response. But as usual, Mott runs away from any real discussion. He is probably out screaming 'the Koch brothers are coming to get you' to little kids crossing the street. Got to promote the lefts new boogie men.
