now HERE is some serious bullying and displays of inadequate manhood

200 armed federal agents surround lone nevada rancher and family while stealing cattle

A long-simmering dispute between a Nevada cattle rancher and the federal Bureau of Land Management has reached a boiling point, and participants have their fingers crossed it won’t erupt into violence.

The Bureau of Land Management “has overstepped its boundaries by not letting me access my rights,” he said, and contended that it had inserted “200 armed officers watching our every move and stealing our cattle.” Bundy’s wife, Carol, said snipers are patrolling the family’s ranch.

Spokeswoman Cannon responded that “There are law enforcement and other personnel in place as needed to ensure that the BLM and National Park Service’s employees and contractors are able to conduct operations safely.”

Bundy has vowed to do whatever it takes to protect his property, and his 14 children and hundreds of supporters stand behind him. Dave Bundy, his son, was arrested on Sunday afternoon while attempting to film the contract cowboys at work, and cited for failing to disperse and resisting arrest.

Thus far, 234 cows have been impounded as the Bureau of Land Management has temporarily closed the public recreation area. Bundy’s plea to the Clark County Sheriff to intervene was stymied as the action fell under federal jurisdiction.

While the last rancher in southern Nevada argues “it’s a freedom issue,” federal officials are executing the “no trespassing” court mandate.

Whether violence and bloodshed can be avoided remains to be seen.

of course the governor has to step in to complain about 'free speech zones'. I guess the liberals will now love these zones for the safety they provide.

Nevada’s governor is criticizing a federal cattle roundup and what he calls “intimidation” in a dispute with a rancher who claims longstanding grazing rights on open range outside Las Vegas.

Federal Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service officials didn’t immediately respond Wednesday to Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval’s call for the BLM to “reconsider its approach.”

Sandoval says he’s most offended that federal officials have tried to corral people protesting the roundup into a “First Amendment area.”

i'm guessing that since these 'paid to keep order' government employees are just doing their job, that this would NOT be some cowboy small penis display of fake courage because they are too scared to go around without their guns, right zappa????

This entire fracas stems from the fact the rancher, in typical Rightie fashion, decided on his own back in 93 that he was no longer required to honor the contract he signed with the Government.

He claims he "fired the BLM" and that gives him "the right" to ignore Nevada state law.

Two of Nevada’s top elected leaders are riding to the rescue of a rancher whose decades-long range war with the federal government has reached a boiling point in recent days.

The federal Bureau of Land Management has surrounded the Clark County ranch of Cliven Bundy with armed officers, helicopters and four-wheel drive vehicles. Last week, they began seizing cattle found grazing on adjacent federal lands in violation of a law meant to protect an endangered desert tortoise.

Both Gov. Brian Sandoval and Sen. Dean Heller have condemned the BLS for what they characterize as heavy-handed actions involving Bundy and other Silver State residents.

“No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans,” Sandoval, a Republican, said. “The BLM needs to reconsider its approach to this matter and act accordingly.”

Heller, also a Republican, said he told BLM Director Neil Kornze the situation is being handled poorly.

“I told him very clearly that law-abiding Nevadans must not be penalized by an over-reaching BLM,” Heller said.

Update: Word on the street from sources close to the militia movement is that up to 5,000 armed militia members will be arriving in Bunkerville, Nevada sometime today. (See full report below)

SHTFplan.com Editor’s Note: It is apparent that the Federal government was under the impression that they could simply move into the ranch land surrounding Bunkerville, NV and have their way with the property and livelihood of the Bundy family. What they didn’t count on was the outcry from Americans across the country. And now things may be headed to the next level. As Kim Paxton of The Daily Sheeple notes, citizen militias in several states have been called up. Many members of those organizations are taking up arms and are making their way to Nevada.

Oh the petty GRANDSTANDING!!

Oh the incredible BULLSHIT!

This is about another garden variety Rightie unwilling to HONOR the contract he signed.

That clown's got no one to blame for his trouble s but HIMSELF.

Honestly?

I'd LOVE to see a couple of these wild west gun nuts get gunned down while pretending they are big and bad.

It might actually make a dent in the thick skulls of your average gun nut, allowing a tiny bit of rational thought to enter for once.

more developments, though i'm going to watch most lefties (and quite a few righties) believe that this is all lies and conspiracy theory. after all, the feds, while looked at as evil, would never do such a thing.

http://danaloeschradio.com/the-real-story-of-the-bundy-ranch/

The BLM asserts their power through the expressed desire to protect the endangered desert tortoise, a tortoise so “endangered” that their population can no longer be contained by the refuge constructed for them so the government is closing it and euthanizing over a thousand tortoises. The tortoises, the excuse that BLM has given for violating claims to easements and running all but one lone rancher out of southern Nevada, is doing fine. In fact, the tortoise has lived in harmony with cattle in the Gold Butte, Clark County Nevada for over a hundred years, or as long as Cliven Bundy’s family has lived on the land as ranchers. In fact, the real threat to it is urbanization, not cattle.

A tortoise isn’t the reason why BLM is harassing a 67 year-old rancher. They want his land. The tortoise wasn’t of concern when Harry Reid worked BLM to literally change the boundaries of the tortoise’s habitat to accommodate the development of his top donor, Harvey Whittemore. Whittemore was convicted of illegal campaign contributions to Senator Reid. Reid’s former senior adviser is now the head of BLM. Reid is accused of using the new BLM chief as a puppet to control Nevada land (already over 84% of which is owned by the federal government) and pay back special interests. BLM has proven that they’ve a situational concern for the desert tortoise as they’ve had no problem waiving their rules concerning wind or solar power development. Clearly these developments have vastly affected a tortoise habitat more than a century-old, quasi-homesteading grazing area. If only Clive Bundy were a big Reid donor.

BLM has also tried to argue that the rules have changed, long after Bundy claims he secured rights and paid his dues to Clark County, Nevada. BLM says they supersede whatever agreement Bundy had prior; they demanded that he reduce his living, his thousand-some-odd head of cattle down to a tiny herd of 150. It’s easy for the government to grant itself powers of overreach, but it doesn’t make it right. Many bad things are done in the name of unjust laws. Just look at Obamacare. This heavy-handed tactic has run the other ranchers from the area and now Bundy is the last one. He’s the last one because he stood up to the federal government.

*UPDATE: Those who say Bundy is a “deadbeat” are making inaccurate claims. Bundy has in fact paid fees to Clark County, Nevada in an arrangement pre-dating the BLM. The BLM arrived much later, changed the details of the setup without consulting with Bundy — or any other rancher — and then began systematically driving out cattle and ranchers. Bundy refused to pay BLM, especially after they demanded he reduce his heard’s head count down to a level that would not sustain his ranch. Bundy OWNS the water and forage rights to this land. He paid for these rights. He built fences, established water ways, and constructed roads with his own money, with the approval of Nevada and BLM. When BLM started using his fees to run him off the land and harassing him, he ceased paying. So should BLM reimburse him for managing the land and for the confiscation of his water and forage rights?

Cliven Bundy’s problem isn’t that he didn’t pay — he did — or that his cattle bother tortoises — they don’t — it’s that he’s not a Reid donor.

**One last thought: For those conservatives saying that since BLM arrived in the late 90s, it’s the law now, well, so is Obamacare.

Not 30 seconds ago, I heard him say that he has NO contract with the feds. His family has been grazing cattle on that land since the 19th century. Why do they want him off that land?

Thanks, that cleared up quite a bit for me.

Its most unfortunate, but according to the law, Bundy is illegally grazing his cattle on Federal lands. He has been ordered by two courts to discontinue this practice.

The Feds have used overkill in the security they have provided the hired men rounding up the cattle, but it is in response to threats leveled by the Bundy family according to a Nevada newspaper.

The cattle have accosted tourists, trampled grasslands, and eats the vegetation needed for the tortoise. They have also done damage to Indian sites.

It sounds as if they are a nuance. Mr. Bundy just needs to fence them in and plant grass!

The Bureau of Land Management has announced it will stop the roundup of cattle owned by rancher Cliven Bundy.

The BLM made the announcement Saturday morning, a week after rangers started gathering the animals from land near Gold Butte.

The agency says it is concerned about the safety of its employees and the public. Earlier this week, BLM officers and supporters of the Bundy family were involved in a scuffle. Cliven Bundy's son, Ammon Bundy, was tased twice by federal agents. Another woman said she was thrown to the ground by an officer.

With more Bundy supporters pouring in from around the country, safety concerns began to grow.

The I-Team has learned the deal to end the gather was brokered by Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie.

According to sources, the BLM wants to proceed with the sale of the cattle already gathered during the roundup but is reportedly willing to share the revenue from the sale with Bundy.

the taste of liberal hatemonger tears is quite delicious

http://www.examiner.com/article/liberal-hatemongers-mad-blm-didn-t-attack-bundy-ranch

On Saturday, the Bureau of Land Management backed down in its effort to take cattle belonging to Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy. A number of liberals, however, appeared angry the federal agency didn't attack the ranch in a manner reminiscent of Waco or Ruby Ridge.

"BLM stand your ground take these freeloaders down," one person said on Twitter.

"I hope the President orders the national guard to the #BundyRanch to deal with the terrorist occupying the land w/ a shoot to kill order," another person added.

The sentiment seemed to also be alive and well at some far left-wing websites, like Democratic Underground. According to one post there, so-called "militia bullies" and "tax cheats" forced the BLM to stand down.

Commenters there made their feelings known, calling the Bundy family "terrorists." One person suggested arresting Bundy and forcing him to stand trial somewhere in the northeast.

"You do not back down from terrorists," one person wrote. "Now these idiots think they can just threaten violence any time and get away with it."

On Friday, users of the site celebrated news that the BLM was bringing in rangers from out of state. Many saw it as a good thing to deal with what they see as Bundy's alleged criminal activity.

Some of the hatred against the Bundys has been generated by groups like the George Soros-funded Media Matters, which excoriated the family because Koch-funded groups dared to place a graphic on Facebook supporting the family. The left wing Southern Poverty Law Center -- the group whose hate map was used by a gunman who shot a guard at the conservative Family Research Council -- portrays Bundy and his supporters as extremists.

The Daily Kos, another far-left wing site, went so far as to call Bundy a "domestic terrorist lawbreaker." Citing the SPLC, the Daily Kos said Bundy is a traitor who belongs in jail.

But liberals, it seems, were in for a giant letdown as government forces decided to stand down. Instead of a bloodbath, federal agents have reached a deal with the Bundys, but promise to pursue the matter through administrative and judicial means.

As we have reported many times, this kind of rhetoric is not uncommon on the left. During the 2012 election, for example, liberals on Twitter routinely called for the murder of Mitt Romney and other prominent conservatives.

Gay sex columnist Dan Savage once told Bill Maher he wished all Republicans were dead. Liberal talk show host Mike Malloy told his audience he wanted the entire Republican Party "literally dead," and once fantasized about an "angel of the Lord" murdering everyone in the Tea Party by cutting off their heads.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Govern...se-Solar-Panel-Plant-In-5-Billion-Nevada-Deal

The son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), Rory Reid, is the primary representative for ENN Energy Group, a Chinese energy company seeking to build a $5 billion solar panel plant on a 9,000-acre Clark County desert plot in Laughlin, Nevada.

ENN scored big when Clark County commissioners unanimously voted to sell the Chinese company the public land for just $4.5 million, despite the fact that it was appraised at $38.6 million.

Sen. Reid has been one of ENN’s biggest supporters, having recruited the company during a 2011 trip to China. According to Reuters, last month Sen. Reid tried to “pressure Nevada's largest power company, NV Energy, to sign up as ENN's first customer.”

Both Rory Reid and Harry Reid deny having ever discussed the $5 billion Chinese solar panel plant deal:

"I have never discussed the project with my father or his staff," said Rory Reid. Kristen Orthman, a spokeswoman for the senator, said he had not discussed the project with his son.

This isn’t the first time the Reids have come under fire for alleged cronyism. In 2003, allegations emerged that Nevada industries frequently lobbied Sen. Reid through his well-connected relatives.
