Several NFL players raised their fists or took a knee during the national anthem at preseason games on Thursday night, reigniting the social justice protests that provoked the wrath of President Trump last season. Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins, who had promised earlier this week that players would soon let their stance be known on a new anthem policy, raised his fist, along with cornerback De'Vante Bausby. Jenkins and other Eagles players wore a T-shirt during pregame warm-ups that read, “More than 60 percent of prison populations are people of color” and “Nearly 5,000 kids are in adult prisons and jails.” Several Miami Dolphins players also joined in the protest, with defensive end Robert Quinn reportedly raising a fist as wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson took a knee.

Stop committing crimes at such a disproportional rate and it will stop being that way.


“Nearly 5,000 kids are in adult prisons and jails.”

If a kid commits an "adult" crime, why shouldn't they be in jail with the adults?

OK. You have the country's attention. How about starting a massive 'get out the vote' campaign? The timing is perfect, just as it was when Kap. failed miserably in his ploy. Idiot didn't even vote.

There are ways to exact change, if that's what the players actually want.

You realize of course that the elevated incarceration rate has its roots in aggressive sentencing and policing...right? People of color are pulled over and "policed" at far higher rates than others...and when sentenced receive far harsher sentences.

You do realize that people committing harsher crimes get harsher sentence.

I see you are yet another one whose first, last, and only thought is that everything revolves around race and you can't bring yourself to admit that people of color are far more prone to commit crimes based on many factors.

I don't care that those committing crimes at a higher level are incarcerated at an equivalent level.

You do realize that blacks commit over 50 %of all murders and most of the crime based on population %...

4 or 5 blacks riding around Chicago need to be pulled over based on the number of shootings blacks commit in the city...blacks commit over 90% of the murders in Chicago

That’s what I’ve never understood about the kneelers.

I assume they all have Twitter accounts with followers in the tens of thousands, at minimum. Use it. Get on it and type to your hearts content about social injustice. Why do something that so many people regard as inflammatory?

Also, the raised-fist has a history—represents Black Power. Enough of the racial supremacy crap. Blacks who advocate race based supremacy are no better than whites who do it.

Ironically, they couldn’t enjoy more equality.

Ummm...you act as if no one has read your incessant racists posts.

The fact is that people of color are charged in cases where others are not and that when charged, receive harsher sentences FOR THE SAME OFFENSES

Economics and not race have always been the determining factor in criminal behavior.

Those lowest on the economic ladder have always contributed to the largest prison population.

Oh and crime is almost entirely WITHIN race. White on white and black on black

These are facts which racists can't deal with

The fact is people of color, because they're either genetically predisposed to it or they are taught to make excuses when they do, commit crimes on a highly disproportionate rate to their percentage in society.

You admit that the blacks are poorest since they make up the largest portion of the prison population. Why is that? Why can't blacks do better?

African Americans have every right to protest. The American flag stands for Liberty and Justice for all. Does anybody really believe that America has provided Liberty and Justice for all African Americans over its history?
