New study shows COVID-19 patients end up with damage to brains.

Racism is a disease
This explains so much about Trump's last three months in office.

A new study shows COVID-19 patients (like former president Trump) end up with damage to their brains, shedding new light on how the virus impacts the human body.

"I think it is critically important that we study this population properly," said Dr. Avi Nath, the lead researcher on this study and clinical director of the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. "We hope these results will help doctors understand the full spectrum of problems patients may suffer so that we can come up with better treatments."

COVID-19 patients report non-respiratory symptoms after contracting the virus, including headaches, delirium and mental fog.

Nath and his team at the National Institutes of Health used special, high-powered brain scans to look at the brains of people who died after contracting COVID-19. This was the first study of its kind in the country, published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

New study shows COVID-19 patients end up with damage to brains. The researchers examined the brains of 19 people who died anywhere from several hours to two months after reporting symptoms. They ranged in age from five to 73 years old.

Nath said he was surprised to find almost all of the patients had abnormalities in the brain.

He said bright spots visible on their brain scans represented areas of inflammation. Dark spots represented bleeding in the brain, which Nath said was likely a result of blood vessels leaking.

"If these patients had survived, let's say, could they have had long-term consequences? And the answer is yes. If you've got that kind of pathology in the brain, you've got damage to the brain," Nath explained.

"When I sit back sometimes and think about it, I'm just shocked at what this virus does to us," said Dr. Farha Ikramuddin, a physical medicine rehabilitation physician at M Health Fairview and assistant professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
Dr. ikramuddin works firsthand with so-called 'COVID long-haulers,' people who have mysterious, lingering symptoms long after recovering from the virus.

Here's proof:

Smart people are just like that. We hate the willfully stupid and gullible. Your ilk drags down the entire national IQ.

The fact that this bug attacks so many organs, and that we dont know if they recover, is huge, is something that needs to be talked about. Derailing that with Trump Hate is gross irresponsibility.

One thing that Bret talks about a lot is how our bodies have a limited amount of ability to repair themselves, how cells can only be replaced a limited number of times. One thing to worry about is how many organs this bug and the immune systems attack on this bug destroy, thus necessitating their replacement. It might well be that people who 100% recover from COVID might lose significant years of life. Then too there is the matter that we are trying to get everyone to take these experimental vaccines...we have no idea how that is going to work out.

The Chinese making this bug and letting it out of the lab might be a disaster for humans in a biological sense. We need to have a talk on the wisdom of scientists doing gain of function research on viruses, should this continue to be done.

It is a shame that this thread is polluted with Trump Hate.

Trump is the one who didn't take COVID seriously.

He called it a hoax.

He said it was no worse than the flu.

He said 15 cases would be down to zero.

He said warm weather would kill it.

He said kids couldn't catch it or spread it.

He praised China's response for two months.

He said HCQ would cure it.

He said to drink bleach and shine a lightbulb up your ass.

He said masks don't work, he refused to wear a mask, he encouraged others not to wear a mask.

He pushed snake oil cures like HCQ and didn't even take HCQ when he had it.

So Trump has earned the hatred. Weird that you refuse to see that. It's almost as if you refuse to see it because you're personally invested in it, and don't want others to throw it back in your face as questioning your credibility and instincts.

This bug is only here, at this stage, because of Trump.

His laziness, his apathy, his lies are what got us here.

They didn't make this bug; Trump didn't take it seriously.

And neither did you until it was too late.

Another thing that almost never gets talked about is that we have no experience with man made bugs like this, we dont know how it will evolve. With bugs made in nature we know that the tendency is for them to become less lethal over time. That might not be true with this one.

It's not a man-made bug.

Trump just didn't take it seriously, so now you're looking for others to blame.

Remind me, who was it who tweeted adulation and spoke praise of China's COVID efforts for the first two months of 2020?
