This article opens with the following:

That is nothing more than a blatant attempt to make those who want a secure border sound like racists.

I have not seen any of those demanding a secure border say anything about the color of their skin. That is injected for the sensationalistic journalism that this article presses for.
Again, trying to lump all who want a secure border in with the white supremists is self defeating.

the claim itself is self evident. their claim is that the rise in militia groups is related to racism, and while part of that may be true, not all militia groups came in to being because of race.
