Members of the fringe group the New Black Panther Party have announced they intend to be at the polls in Harris County, Texas tomorrow. So has the Tea Party-backed group True the Vote -- with more than 1,000 poll watchers, they say. Both sides have already traded accusations of voter intimidation -- but, despite all their press coverage, neither will likely play a deciding factor at the polls tomorrow.

The face off between poll watchers alleging massive voter fraud in Harris County and many voters in minority neighborhoods of Houston during the early voting period have already been racially tinged. New developments indicate it will only get worse.

Awesome. I love it when regular people who just want to vote are caught in the crossfire between competing groups of freakshow ideologues. It's win-win-win.

I am generally carrying everywhere I go. Tomorrow will be no different. I don't foresee any issues though, and if it does happen, at least i'll be prepared. I hope everything stays cool and calm though.

Well, I get that, but I don't understand the mentality of carrying a gun just in case. I've lived quite a few years and I cannot recall any incident wherein me carrying a gun would have led to a more positive outcome.

Well, I could wax poetic about "it'd better to have it and not need it" and a bunch of other cliche (though not necessarily incorrect) phrases, but I'll bet you've heard them all already. I can say though, that it does make a lot of people feel safer. It's comforting to know that you will be more able to control a situation that is a risk to your health/life.

You said to point out "any lefty" not "every lefty." And it's pretty plain from the OP that I'm not in favor of what they and the True the Vote nitiwts are up to here.

And look, I understand that you love playing the hypocrisy game, but how about you stick your fucking neck out and weigh in on the subject for a change. I take it from your deflection that you support what the True the Vote people are doing.
