When did the US need to defend itself? When we fought to break away from the Brits, we needed guns. That is why the second was added. So we have shot a few million Americans since then. We are low on the evolutionary scale. No wars on our land. Actually, they are better off with anything chambered in 7.62x39 and 9mm handgun ammo. Nor really great for sniping but the AK47 and variants are some of the simplest and most reliable firearms in the world. Ammo Inc has donated 1 million rounds to the Ukrainians and those Russian bastards better keep their heads on a swivel for eternity.
