Navy veteran David Cohen knew he had a history of colon cancer in his family, but his repeated requests for early cancer screenings were turned down by his local VA hospital, CNN reports.

Now, Cohen is facing his worst fears: a diagnosis of stage four colorectal cancer and a prognosis of 26 months left to live
 
yah I have a problem with anyone deciding what preventative screenings I should have expectantly some bureaucracy like the US Preventive Services Task Force who says men over 75 should no longer get prostate exams and women under 50 should not get mammograms.

Why don't we start prostate exams and mammograms for 8 year olds, chapdog? Those silly "experts" and "scientists" evilly giving out unwanted expert advice on when it's effective to get cancer screening are monsters, IMHO.

If you aren't taking your newborn to get a prostate exam, you're a murderer. Let's throw rationality to the wind! Let's just listen to ignorant fools like Chap who don't know what they're talking about.

Or we could go your route and ration it to only those who are already dying of colon-rectal cancer.

Maybe there is a middle ground, like you find in private practice, where the doctor looks at the history before deciding whether it might be wise to go outside the statistical norm.
