Muslim cab driver who was stabbed against mosque

Not all Muslims are terrorist but all the 911 terrorists were Muslims. What do you expect the common folk of NYC to feel about muslims not even 10 years removed from 911? What do muslims in arabia feel about American Christians and Jews?

Is that justified?

American Muslims also died on 9/11, and fought in the 2 wars that followed.

You think prejudice against an entire religion based on the actions of a fanatical few is justified?

How far do you take it? Are the hate crimes that result from this prejudice acceptable?

You really are dumb.

You & the Yankee keep posting, "Oh, how is this an anti-mosque crime?"

My point in thanking the anti-mosque people is that they are the ones provoking anti-Muslim sentiment.

Get it yet?

Probably not. I'm so glad I'm smarter than you.

you're such a liar...you totally blame them for the crime

not even the uber lefty crashk agrees with you....you're out on a ledge and because you can never admit you're wrong, you will now desperately spin and change what you said

hack

No i think its criminal and never justified just as its not justified for americans, Christians, jews, or even there own women to be violated in Persia for no reason.

Point i was making is common people dont think like you or me and we are talking about ground zero. There is bound to be racial violence just like that truck driver who turned onto the wrong street in LA that time and got a brick to the head.

Oh....my....God.

Why do I spend time w/ someone who is so obtuse?

Yurt - and this is the last time, so I'll try to say it slowly - the anti-mosque crowd is the group that is creating the atmosphere of anti-Muslim sentiment, which in turn (here is the key part) provokes crimes like these.

Do....you....get....this? This is actually universally accepted in the field of psychology, and something we have seen consistenly on everything from the internment of the Japanese in WWII to present day violence & hatred against Muslims.

Understand? I'm really hoping you do at this point. I don't think I can possibly be more clear. That is why I thanked the anti-mosque crowd. Not because they actually perpetrated the crime.

So dumb....

Doesn't make it right, at all. I won't defend that...why are you?

im just pointing out the line of thinking which i agree was criminal.

Hell I travel via air a lot and can even admit i don't feel comfortable around Muslims when they are in full garb on a plane. Makes me remember my friend that was on one of the planes and what i would do if the said Muslim tried to hijack it. Call me a racist for that thought coming into my head.

no one ever said you said they perpetrated the crime....but you are in fact blaming them....but for the anti mosque crowd, there wouldn't be this hatred for muslims and this crime would not have happened....that is exactly what you're saying

you're saying it is the proximate cause of the crime and honestly, you're looking like an idiot by trying to weasel out of your fucking idiotic statement

you have YET to address the guy going crazy. why is that? why are you so afraid to address any fact that goes against your insane notion that the anti mosque crowd is to blame? you rant on about how dumb i am, yet you ignore facts because you know you will have to admit you're wrong.

you've totally lost it on this one...

once again, the facts of the case:

Mr. Enright said, “Salaam aleikum,” the Arabic greeting “Peace be upon you.”

“How’s your Ramadan going?” Mr. Enright asked, Mr. Sharif said.

He told him it was going fine. Then, he said, Mr. Enright began making fun of the rituals of Ramadan, and Mr. Sharif sensed this cab ride might not be like any other.

“So I stopped talking to him,” Mr. Sharif said. “He stopped talking, too.”

As the cab inched up Third Avenue and reached 39th Street, Mr. Sharif said in a phone interview, Mr. Enright suddenly began cursing at him and shouting “This is the checkpoint” and “I have to bring you down.” He said he told him he had to bring the king of Saudi Arabia to the checkpoint.

“He was talking like he was a soldier,” Mr. Sharif said.

He withdrew a Leatherman knife, Mr. Sharif said, and, reaching through the opening in the plastic divider, slashed Mr. Sharif’s throat. When Mr. Sharif turned, he said, Mr. Enright stabbed him in his face, on his arm and on his thumbs.

starts off nice, then he shuts up....then SUDDENLY he flips out and starts talking about checkpoints like he is a soldier and has to bring the king of SA to the checkpoint....

the facts clearly indicate this had NOTHING at all to do with anti mosque sentiment....rather...what we have is a lunatic

It's not racist/bigoted to have a random thought.

too bad for onceler and zappygetard the more facts we know the more it shows this attack had zero to do with the anti mosque crowd:

The baby-faced college student was charged Wednesday with using a folding knife to slash the neck and face of the taxi's Bangladeshi driver after the driver said he was Muslim. Enright was so drunk and incoherent when he was arrested that he was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, police said.

He was later taken to court and remained jailed without bail Thursday on hate crime charges.

"Of course it was for my religion — he attacked me after he knew I was a Muslim," the driver, Ahmed Sharif, said at a news conference after meeting with Mayor Michael Bloomberg at City Hall.

Enright was found with two composition-style notebooks on him that contained details of his experiences embedded with U.S. forces in Afghanistan but did not appear to contain any anti-Muslim rants, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press. Enright was carrying the journals in a bag along with an empty bottle of scotch, the official told the AP on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

A taxi drivers' labor group quickly used the attack to denounce "bigotry" over plans to build an Islamic center and mosque two blocks north of ground zero, while a leading Islamic group claimed a recent increase in anti-Muslim attacks since the controversy began.

The driver, who along with his family met privately with Bloomberg, told reporters the project did not come up in his conversation with the passenger.

it is clear to any smart and unbaised person that the guy just went nuts either due to mental issues or alcohol or both....anti mosque sentiment had nothing to do with this
