Muslim cab driver who was stabbed against mosque

Mr. Sharif, who lives in Jamaica, Queens, with his wife and four children, came to the United States about 25 years ago and was a cook before becoming a cabdriver 15 years ago. He said nothing of this nature had happened to him before. Recently, some passengers asked him about the center planned near ground zero, he recalled, and he replied that he was against it, that there was no need to put it there.

nutcase who stabbed him part of pro mosque group:

Michael Enright of Brewster, New York, who was booked on charges of attempted murder and assault with a weapon as a hate crime, is listed on Facebook as an employee of the New York City-based Intersections International, a "global initiative dedicated to promoting justice, reconciliation and peace across lines of faith, culture, ideology, race, class, national borders and other boundaries that divide humanity." And a few weeks ago, they announced their support for -- you guessed it -- the Cordoba House, better known to many as the "Ground Zero Mosque."

Just to recap, again, via the New York Daily News, Enright got in the cab last night "visibly drunk," asked the driver if he was a Muslim, and proceeded to do this:

[Takes] out the knife from his Leatherman tool and stabbed the unsuspecting driver in the throat, upper lip, arm and hand, police said.
The driver, unidentified, escaped the cab, locked Enright in the back seat, and called the cops, who arrested and booked Micheal at the 17th Precinct on charges of attempted murder and assault with a weapon as a hate crime. He was presumably shipped off to Bellevue to get his head checked out and is being arraigned in court sometime today.

amazing how the nutters on the left immediately jumped on this and BLAMED the opponents of the mosque for this attack with ZERO evidence...

fools

Since you like these dual thread discussions....

"You really think the anti-Muslim sentiment that is running rampant right now has NOTHING to do with this?

Really?"

I thought you said it was an anti-mosque sentiment. Why the change?

here are the facts onceler is afraid to face:

Mr. Enright said, “Salaam aleikum,” the Arabic greeting “Peace be upon you.”

“How’s your Ramadan going?” Mr. Enright asked, Mr. Sharif said.

He told him it was going fine. Then, he said, Mr. Enright began making fun of the rituals of Ramadan, and Mr. Sharif sensed this cab ride might not be like any other.

“So I stopped talking to him,” Mr. Sharif said. “He stopped talking, too.”

As the cab inched up Third Avenue and reached 39th Street, Mr. Sharif said in a phone interview, Mr. Enright suddenly began cursing at him and shouting “This is the checkpoint” and “I have to bring you down.” He said he told him he had to bring the king of Saudi Arabia to the checkpoint.

“He was talking like he was a soldier,” Mr. Sharif said.

He withdrew a Leatherman knife, Mr. Sharif said, and, reaching through the opening in the plastic divider, slashed Mr. Sharif’s throat. When Mr. Sharif turned, he said, Mr. Enright stabbed him in his face, on his arm and on his thumbs.

yep, sure looks like the anti mosque crowd is to blame....

I thanked the "anti-mosque people", actually.

Do you guys really contend that there isn't an atmosphere of hate being created right now, by the group who repeatedly states that "they're the ones who attacked us" and "they want to subjugate Americans?"

Really?

Yurt...have you read what some of the anti-mosque people have posted on this board?

Would you try to make an argument that much of it doesn't equate to hate speech?

Didn't think so. Well, take those comments, multiply them by 10,000, and you're in downtown NYC....

can't escaped the facts huh....nothing in the situation indicates that anti mosque sentiment has anything to do with the stabbing....

FACT: the guy worked for a pro mosque group

its hilarious how you will spin yourself into stupidity just to avoid admitting you're wrong....:clink:

using the facts about the situation, why don't you explain how that has anything to do with the stabbing....

Stop deflecting from the issue. You called this guy "anti-mosque" and he was "pro mosque". He's one of yours and you blamed us.

Not blaming the opponents of the Mosque. Blaming Faux news for whipping up fear and hatred just like they did with illegal Mexicans. This would have been an non-issue if Faux hadn't seen it as a way to spread fear and hysteria over brown skinned people.

You're a wuss. You haven't addressed one point I have made, because you can't.

The group the guy worked for was pro mosque (notice the way I worded it, because it's more truthful than the way you worded it). What does that say about HIS views?

I'm more persuaded by the fact that he asked if the guy was a Muslim, and he started stabbing after that.

Try taking this to another level, and answer some of the questions I have asked: do you really believe that what is going on right now is not creating a toxic atmosphere for this kind of hate and action? That this incident (and plenty of others, btw), are just coincidence?

Have some courage for once. Try to debate the topic.

what point haven't i address?

thats more honest than:

the guy worked for a pro mosque group

lmao, its the same thing....good lord, your desperation is hilarious...now come the lies, anything to not admit you're wrong and that you jumped to conclusions based on zero evidence because you're an emotional tard

I'm more persuaded by the fact that he asked if the guy was a Muslim, and he started stabbing after that.

what does that have to do with the mosque. the cabbie never claimed he said one word about the mosque, rather, he started talking like a soldier and talking about the king of saudi arabia...IOW, the guy flipped his lid

Try taking this to another level, and answer some of the questions I have asked: do you really believe that what is going on right now is not creating a toxic atmosphere for this kind of hate and action? That this incident (and plenty of others, btw), are just coincidence?

i'll copy my prior answer to you that you claimed i never answered:

you're really stretching because you can't admit you fucked up

other attacks have no bearing on this one attack you ignorant tard

Have some courage for once. Try to debate the topic.

strange, sure looks like i am....you're the one refusing to address any facts from the case and instead are stubbornly insisting it MUST be the anti mosque crowds fault....despite all the evidence to the contrary...you have zero evidence, you have nothing but conjecture, whereas i have debated facts

How can you be so dim?

It's the fact that the anti-mosque crowd is creating HATE FOR MUSLIMS that is salient. I swear, it is completley bizarre that you keep bringing up how the cabbie felt about it. It's completely inconsequential; he as a MUSLIM. To me, it seems like that was why he was attacked; I dunno, maybe I'm crazy on this, but when a guy asks if someone is Muslim, then starts stabbing, I see that as a possible motivation.

The guy belonged to the group prior to the mosque situation; the group didn't form to support the mosque. The fact that the guy didn't quit his job immediately when they decided to support it doesn't tell me a thing about how he really felt about it.

You're a total buffoon on this. If you really think that what the anti-mosque people are saying doesn't create a climate of hate for Muslims, I can't do much for you. We have seen examples of it time & again in history, but I know you're not exactly a history buff.

You also need to search around the news a little bit more. This is just one incident. It's no coincidence that these incidents just happen to be increasing right now.

Wow you can use this for anything. "He stole my lunch money because Faux News whipped up fear and hatred and they're racists." :palm:

UOTE=Onceler;699333]How can you be so dim?

you're the one being dim and ignoring the FACTS

It's the fact that the anti-mosque crowd is creating HATE FOR MUSLIMS that is salient. I swear, it is completley bizarre that you keep bringing up how the cabbie felt about it.

odd...i didn't even bring that in my last response to you...

It's completely inconsequential; he as a MUSLIM. To me, it seems like that was why he was attacked; I dunno, maybe I'm crazy on this, but when a guy asks if someone is Muslim, then starts stabbing, I see that as a possible motivation.

odd...no one is claiming this has nothing to do with him being a muslim. are you even paying attention or are your emotions screwing you up again?

The guy belonged to the group prior to the mosque situation; the group didn't form to support the mosque. The fact that the guy didn't quit his job immediately when they decided to support it doesn't tell me a thing about how he really felt about it.

he obviously never voiced any opposition to it. he belonged to a pro mosque group, its doubtful his views are any different. the guys resume screams liberal....and most liberals support it, while maybe less than half repubs do...

You're a total buffoon on this. If you really think that what the anti-mosque people are saying doesn't create a climate of hate for Muslims, I can't do much for you. We have seen examples of it time & again in history, but I know you're not exactly a history buff.

i'm a buffoon? thats rich...you're completely ignoring that the guy was DRUNK and when he entered the cab, was friendly, then he got weird so the cabbie stopped talking to him and then the guy starts spouting gibberish and talking like a soldier and meeting up with the king of saudi arabia.....

why are you so hell bent on ignoring that the guy just flipped out...has NOTHING to do with mosque hysteria

You also need to search around the news a little bit more. This is just one incident. It's no coincidence that these incidents just happen to be increasing right now.

i will say for the third time, other incidents have zero bearing on this incident...

keep ignoring facts onceler, i know its the only way you get throught day without admitting you're wrong

You really are dumb.

You & the Yankee keep posting, "Oh, how is this an anti-mosque crime?"

My point in thanking the anti-mosque people is that they are the ones provoking anti-Muslim sentiment.

Get it yet?

Probably not. I'm so glad I'm smarter than you.

The September 11 attacks (often referred to as September 11th or 9/11) were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda Muslims upon the United States on September 11, 2001. On that morning, 19 al-Qaeda Muslims hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. The Muslim hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the buildings. Both buildings collapsed within two hours, destroying nearby buildings and damaging others. The Muslim hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C. The fourth plane crashed into a field near Shanksville in rural Pennsylvania after some of its passengers and flight crew attempted to retake control of the plane, which the hijackers had redirected toward Washington, D.C. There were no survivors from any of the flights.

The death toll of the attacks was 2,995, including the 19 Muslim hijackers. The overwhelming majority of casualties were civilians, including nationals of over 70 countries.

Not all Muslims are terrorist but all the 911 terrorists were Muslims. What do you expect the common folk of NYC to feel about muslims not even 10 years removed from 911? What do muslims in arabia feel about American Christians and Jews?
