There are an estimated 3.45 million Muslims in the US – only about one percent of the country’s total population – but their concentrations in key swing and battleground states, such as Michigan, Florida, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, could make their vote especially impactful.

Trump further alienated Muslims in a series of disparaging comments and tweets blasting “Radical Islamic terrorism” and calling countries on the Muslim ban list “dangerous”. More recently, Trump did not denounce white supremacist groups and instead told one right-wing group, the Proud Boys, who are active throughout Michigan: “Stand back and stand by.”

When Palestine was partitioned by the United Nations, under UNGAR 181, into a division as a homeland for Jews and a division for indigenous Palestinians it was recognized that Jerusalem was a holy city for three major religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism and so it was not included in the division. Instead, it was designated International Territory so that it could be enjoyed by all parties.
When the Jews, later called Israelis, occupied West Jerusalem they did so in contravention of international law. The United Nations has never accepted the occupation and the so-called ' Israeli law ' there has been declared null and void. So, in moving the US embassy to illegally-occupied territory the US has contravened the law itself and is also in breach of its UN Charter legal commitments.

Successive US presidents have ' promised ' to move the embassy, as a perceived vote-winner, but none has ever done so until El Trumpo, in his spoon-fed ignorance.
