MSNBC suspends Joe Scarborough for campaign donations

In his own statement, Scarborough apologized for violating the policy. He said that the donations, which were discovered by Politico, were made to "close personal friends and family members and were limited to local races," and that they were "given for personal rather than political reasons." (The donations went to his brother and three "longtime family friends.") He therefore believed he didn't need approval from MSNBC.

they applied their rules equally to both left and right leaning commentators. seems pretty non-partisan to me.

If you work at MSNBC you know this rule about donations. It's up to you whether you want to follow it or not. If several people broke the same rule why should only one person be punished?

i just think its funny how msnbc thinks the rule makes them appear more non partisan

if they really cared about objectivity, shouldn't they focus more on their reporting and not whether someone donates to family members....

I think if they have rules and they inconsistently apply them, that will definitely make them BE less non-partisan.

I guess I don't really see it as a partisan non-partisan thing. It's a rule for all employees. Like any workplace environment if two people violate the same rule and you only punish one then wtf?

i'm not talking about punishing both people...i'm talking about the rule

imo, if they really cared, they would change their reporting

If another channel had the same rule and they applied it only to one side it would show "partisanship"...

I think this is more indicative of the weaker channel trying to effect policy at another channel by "proving" they are more non-partisan, it's silly really. It might even work if they had more than the CEO's mom watching at any one moment.

I couldn't care less if these people get suspended for violating a rule they set to attempt to look more "non-partisan"...

because it is not a lie... now will you begin to discuss issues instead of personalities, or will I have to move on to other more intelligent and articulate conservatives for debating opponents? Your final call.

Maybe MSNBC could ask the GOP to send them the same talking point memos Fox receives?
