This chick sets out to get to the bottom of the climategate highlite, "hide the decline", which, as you may know from our hundreds of threads on the subject, refers to decline in tree ring density since the 1960s forward, a bit of a departure from what scientists expected the tree rings density to trend. The data was so bad at correlating with known temperatures that it threatened to undermine the use of tree ring density to derive past temps. It was removed from the data and cited as the divergence problem, a term that was used before the climategate. The data was replaced with real temps that created the graph that Jaeah refers to as not showing a decline.
This is funny if you understand. But I'm afraid the warmers will likely fail to grasp what the issue is and buy Jaeah's awesome analysis.
