Most R's vote against repeal of DADT! WTF?

It's pretty strange. The Pentagon report concluded lifting DADT is no problem, the majority of Americans support it, and most people serving in the military don't give a damn. What amazes me is that as our economy continues to crumble, Reps are worried about gays in the military and Dems are trying to get free education for anchor babies. It's complete bullshit and obvious to me that neither party learned from the recent election.

The military has stated the Dream Act would be a good thing for the military, you would think the Republicans would fall over it! I guess they only love the military when they are actually fighting a war, the rest of the time, not much interest in it, especially after the fact, like veterans.

Because letting kids become citizens because they go to school only encourages more families to come here illegally. It does nothing to address the problem.

I don't think there is much that will stop people from coming here illegally. I understand this to be an amnesty type program, it allows those children who were brought here illegally to become citizens, they can serve in the military or attend school, both beneficial to the USA. They are already here, why not let them be all that they can be a help the system instead of bleed it?

I guess to me this is rewarding illegal behavior and only encourages more of it. We've gjven amnesty in the past and nothing changed. I support legal immigration and guest worker programs, not this.

Sorry, but we need to clarify something... Republicans didn't care about gays in the military, and they didn't bring up repeal of DADT. That was Democrats, the same as the Dream Act. It's obvious to me that ONE party didn't learn from the recent election, and the other party is still not in power yet. It's also obvious you intend to hold Republicans accountable for the actions of a Democrat congress, because that is just what you did.

It seems that Rs may be using the "lame duck" excuse to get out of voting for this. Get enough that are either solidly set to go with it to get it passed, but otherwise vote no and allow them the excuse of "they did it"...

Most of those who would vote against it aren't against gays, they are against making major changes to the military during war, but it appears bad and the other party will use it that way.

Sounds like an excuse to me!

I can support some conservative ideas, in fact I support some... but when someone votes against something like repealing DADT, it turns me off them for good.

President Barack Obama plans to sign the repeal of the military's ban on openly gay service members on Wednesday, four days after the Senate voted to abolish the policy.

Obama's signature would end the Pentagon's 17-year, "don't-ask, don't tell" policy and fulfill a 2008 presidential campaign promise.

The policy has allowed gays and lesbians to serve, but only if they were silent about their sexual orientation.

Press secretary Robert Gibbs would not say how long it would take for the administration to implement the repeal. But he said he didn't expect it to be "overly burdensome."

When the Commandant of the Marines says this is a bad idea, and that sentiment seems to be resounded throughout the leadership of the military, a lot of conservatives are compelled to pay attention to that and listen. Sorry we can't get on board with your queer lovefest and adopt a stupid policy to appease the gay community, this is about the effectiveness of our military. Now.... You fucking queer-loving liberals got what you demanded, it passed! DADT has been repealed, and you WON... but here you are, still trying to make hay out of an issue that is settled. Why? What purpose could it possibly serve, to continue arguing for something you already won? You're no conservative, you don't support conservative ideas, you are vehemently opposed to conservatism in every way shape or form, and this is now about tarnishing conservatives because of their vote on this. That's what you're about, you dishonest little piece of shit, stop lying to people about it... support conservative ideas MY ASS!
