I'll give credit where credit is due , you must be smarter than me then, since most of the left wingers that I know claim the mantle of "liberal" (yet the concept of liberty seems to escape them) making "lefties" somewhat hard to identify and there are so many "conservatives" that claim to speak for god (which makes me believe god really needs to do some housecleaning in the Human Resources department) that I get all confused over the subject of what, if anything god might think about any given subject.

A lot of people who would be called "socialist" or "social democrat" are called liberal in America. I try to personify liberalism as in liberty while leaning left - I'm moderate economically, and way out their socially. Most libertarians, on the other hand, are moderate on the social scale and way out their on the economic one.

I'm an individualist, but not idiotically so.

They con people into believing that 'cutting the amount of deficit spending' is a 'good thing'. Notice how they never talk about eliminating it all together (except for in extreme cases)? Notice how they never talk about actually LOWERING the national debt fiscal year over year?

bullshit... not only do you need to balance the budget, you need to stick to the budget. There is NO reason for the US to have increased our nations debt every year since Ike left office. NONE.

There are times where a deficit is necessary. But not every friggin year. Sooner or later the dollar will cease being the reserve currency if we continue as we have for the past 5 decades.

Why?

As long as debt as a % of GDP is declining you're not going to be in very bad waters.

A small deficit doesn't hurt anything because it's eaten away by inflation and wealth growth over time. Deficit hawks who do nothing but sit and obsess over the deficit do no one any good.
