Mitt Romney reaffirms opposition to gay marriage

Mitt Romney reaffirmed his view that marriage is between "a man and a woman," offering a sharp contrast to President Obama who announced earlier today that he now backs the right of gay couples to marry.

Speaking to reporters after a campaign event in Oklahoma City, Romney said his position on same sex marriage is unchanged despite Obama's shift on the issue.

"I have the same view on marriage that I had when I was governor. I believe marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman," Romney said. "I have the same view I've had since, well, running for office."

this is one of the reasons i no longer consider myself republican. i don't support mitt's stance. unfortunately, there is no candidate with whom i completely agree, thus, i find myself in the ethereal world of the so called "independent" voter.

again rummy was for it before he was against it

i do not know who rummy is, but i lean more towards obama

before he was elected governor, it is one of his speeches saying how he was better than kennedy

can you cite that, i can't find any reference to that....i would be surprised, given his strong religious back ground....and it wouldn't make sense, since as governor, he was opposed to it.

LOL

You'd vote for Romney a million times on election day if you could....

ok...either you heard wrong or they are wrong according to what i searched on google. i can't find a single source that confirms that. romney support civil unions, not gay marriage.

it may have been civil unions, but i do not think so, i was not paying a lot of attention as i had heard it before but could not remember where

i get most of my news from cnn and yahoo
