It may be President's Day, but Melania Trump is leveraging the occasion to promote her own interests.
The 54-year-old First Lady, who married Donald Trump in January 2005, marked Monday's federal holiday — the official commemoration of President George Washington's birthday — by promoting her multi-million-dollar Amazon documentary as its theatrical release continues.
On Instagram, Melania posted a black-and-white graphic reading, "Fans [red heart] Melania," accompanied by "#1 highest opening in a decade (doc)."

The image featured excerpts from reviews by prominent U.S. news organizations, including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
"Melania is a hit," read The Wall Street Journal's assessment, whilst The New York Times reportedly praised, "Melania Arrives With Strong Box Office Showing for a Documentary."

"Don't miss your chance to see MELANIA in theaters before its run ends," she wrote to her 4.3 million followers, encouraging them to "experience the immersive visuals and sound on the big screen today."
Yet based on audience responses, it appears many would prefer to skip it entirely. In the comments section, one user declared, "I'd rather be drowned in Donald's excrement than watch your brainless movie."
A second user proposed another bleak comparison, stating, "I'd rather have a root canal."
Meanwhile, another critic complained, "Oh my god bruh this movie was awful melania you genuinely could've made this about anything in your life and instead it's a 20 days of car rides and yapping.
"Oh no. Darn. Did I miss my big chance to see Melania? ? Oh snap. Golly. Gee wiilikers," someone else seemed to sarcastically remark, with a fifth person jeering, "Lol what a sad self promotion."

A sixth user expressed frustration even more forcefully, declaring, "Why talk b-----ks. It's the biggest flop in years."
She also dedicated a post to the nation, extending Presidents' Day greetings to Americans by sharing a photograph of herself alongside President Trump, 79, though the image was taken from the Melania documentary premiere at the White House in late January.
The couple appeared posing hand in hand before the Melania movie signage in the White House's Cross Hall. The former model wore a white button-down blouse paired with high-waisted trousers that emphasized her waistline.
She complemented her outfit with black pointed stiletto heels, styled her blonde hair in a voluminous blowout and finished her appearance with striking makeup. Her husband, who is 25 years her senior, dressed in a tuxedo combined with a white shirt and bow tie.

His ensemble was rounded out with patent leather dress shoes. The film chronicles 20 days in the lead-up to the president's second inauguration.
Amazon acquired the rights for approximately $40 million, a move that has drawn criticism of founder Jeff Bezos following significant layoffs at his publication, the Washington Post.
The documentary launched strongly at the box office, earning roughly $7 million over its opening weekend, marking the best performance for a non-concert documentary since 2012. Since then, however, ticket sales have plummeted.
This past weekend, it dropped to 15th place among new releases, bringing in less than $1 million. To date, the documentary has generated approximately $15.4 million in total revenue, with the Daily Beast reporting that Amazon MGM executives anticipate recovering some of the investment once it becomes available on Amazon's streaming platform.

It's her own fault! She accepted a $75 million bribe from Bezos to make that shitty movie and now wonders why people might have a problem with that!

I guess what it all comes down to is that Melania is an evil, gold-digging whore. Here she is, pre-trump, while she was still banging Epstein and his other friends:

Melania is now on Prime! Who whoever guessed it'd be on Prime before Spring Break is the winner!!!

It spent a weekend in the theaters, followed by a few weeks of being on the "clearance rack" of movies.
I'm curious if @Cypress bought the movie or was waiting for it on Prime like me?

Watching Melania fills you with a profound and despairing claustrophobia. On my way to the theater, I stopped in at a used bookstore and bought two books and sat across from a woman on the metro whom I didn’t know, and we smiled at each other. To live in a city is to have neighbors. Melania has none. Her voice-over mentions that she has lived in D.C., New York, and Florida. But watching her traipse from limo to limo, private jet to private jet, just to get to identically fancy rooms full of identically sycophantic people, I wanted to scream: You don’t live there! You don’t live anywhere!

How does 'Malaria, The Movie' compare at the box office to other well known documentary films?

Documentary Film$ Gross adjusted to 2026 dollars
March of the Penguins$221 million
Bowling for Columbine$104 million
An Inconvenient Truth$80 million
Born to be Wild$68 million
Malaria, The Movie$16 million

Amazon is massively trying to promote this unprofitable disaster of a movie on Prime

Being claustrophobic in an empty theater... Maybe the movie is better than I thought.

Streaming is cheap for both the seller and the buyer. DVDs are going the way of the VHS.

I went to a couple pawn shops recently looking for Tai Chi DVDs. Neither had one but they had a ton of DVDs at 10 for $10.

I still buy DVDs on Amazon. I like to own my own hardcopy of the movie.
