50 year mortgages are a good idea in an era where few young people can afford to buy homes.
As long as there is no prepayment penalty, there is not a problem.

I agree. I suspect that the Trump-haters here on JPP are mostly renters, anyway, and I'm pretty sure most of 'em are Boomers who'll be dead soon.

Hence, their lack of nuance on the issue.
