McCain now calling workers "the fundamentals"

I saw a couple of clips yesterday where McCain, in trying to cover his boneheaded remarks from Monday, starts talking about workers, and makes sure to slip in "fundamentals," as though that's what he really meant. So, he will say something like "The American workers, or fundamentals, are the most productive, the most innovative, etc."

Thing is, he has said that the economic "fundamentals" are strong, or some variation of that, 22 times this year.

Again, I have to ask this about the McCain campaign: do they think they're fooling anyone? If you want to talk about American workers, you say "American workers." Obama is supposed to be "the elitist," but McCain is the one who generally seems to think we're really stupid...

I doubt they are fooling many people. But then again, there are a lot of idiots out there.

Mainly this sort of tripe appeals to those who are looking for reasons not to vote for Obama.

Plus, he actually would rather screw over american workers for mexicans who will take less pay. American workers are replaceable, and should be replaced, in his view.

Oh wait. Dems also believe this.

Hey did you see the clips Olbermann had of McCain at the GM plant when some of the workers started chanting "Obama" while John and Cindy struggled to keep the plastic smiles on their faces?

You know when I played Baseball, my coach was very into re-enforcing the fundamentals of the game, that didn't mean the players. Players are NOT the fundamentals of baseball anymore than workers are the fundamentals of our economy. John McCain, I call shenanigans!

GHWB ran around saying that we were not in recession, technically he was correct but the implication was he "didn't understand", this put in the foothold of the "It's the economy, Stupid" line that eventually, along with Perot and other factors, lost him an election.

If McCain doesn't catch on, he's making a big mistake.

Yeah - that was pretty good. Those smiles are weird - just plain weird...

This is possibly the worst spin I've ever seen.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but McLyin' and Palin seem to be trying to win an election on lies. Who would have thunk that?

Ah, Ok. Funny, but I was wondering if you were claiming that the Dem 92 mantra of "It's the economy stupid" was calling the workers...errr, sorry, the fundamentals, stupid, and that this was exactly like that, or...they do it too!

Sorry, my bad, I don't know what gives me these crazy suspicions, after all, it can't be your track record?

That clip was sad. I felt bad for Grandpa McSame.

It showed what an actor he really is.

It seems that Soc was able to clearly read my intention and understand clearly what I posted. It isn't my "track record" it's your projection of how you would act if the D and the R were swapped.

I'm waiting for the spin from his camp regarding his interview last night where he refused to say that he would invite the Prime Minister of Spain to the White House out of apparent confusion between the Spanish PM and who the hell knows in Latin America.

It should be good. I be the first attempt is that is was a translation issue, even thought the interview was conducted in English and translated to Spanish.

Well, I thought it too. It is DEFINITELY your track record of hopping on any thread that criticizes a Republican with some corresponding Dem example.

That is beyond dispute.

Oh I can't get over that one. It's so frustrating that he is getting away with running as the one who is strong on foreign policy. I wonder if this guy can keep up that facade until Nov 4th.
